Hi cozy people! I made this starter guide for nuzlocke beginners in BDSP (if you're a pro you probably don't need to watch this haha) just to give a bit of an overview of the starters and to help choosing a starter in context of the nuzlocke ruleset and type coverage in Sinnoh and Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl. About to start a stream doing BD nuzlocke, appreciate this video. Helped me decide which starter I’m gonna pick. This is my first Nuzlocke. I’m going with Turtwig, I always choose bulk over speed in games. 🙅🏼‍♂️

Diamond was my first Pokémon game. I will always have a soft spot for Turtwig. He’s always my little leaf turtle 🥰 I wish Torterra had a Mega where the tree grows bigger and you just swing it 😂

First off, the disclaimer at the beginning is KEY cause too often I see people gatekeeping certain Pokemon and it makes me so sad.... They all deserve our love

I choose Turtwig bc I just love Torrtera and I am not that interested in Chimchar (not that big monkey fan, even though I love the designof Infernape). I also love Piplup or more so Empoleon design wise and really want to use it as well. But I had to use Floutzel as it is one of my favourite Water types and I knew that it Is fast(Luckily I got one😁 I have already done the Nuzlock and got very sad that my Turt died to Volkners Ice fang Luxray. So I didn't use it in the end. But it was fun. I will probably do another Nuzlock in Gen 9 or something like that. I used my Underground encounter for Hounddoom witch was my saving grace while battling Chyntia. I set up +2 speed and +6 sp attack and heal stalled a bit then Won. So I am very glad I got Hounddoom. It is a very cool pokemon. The only one of the 2 not gen 4 pokemon I used. I prefer using the regions pokemon, but I never used Hounddoom before so I wanted to use it. Aslo used a Machamp mostly cause I got lucky with a Adament nature(+Attack-Sp attack) else would have used something else. This was my first Nuzlock so I think I did very good. Good luck on future Nuzlocks!😃

Thank you for such a well presented and informative video, I've never completed a Nuzlocke but am thinking of trying one for my second run of Brilliant Diamond. Picking either Piplup or Chimchar since I chose Turtwig for my main run as they're my favourite Sinnoh starter.

I was doing a nuzlocke on a different account and I died to maylene (that was my first nuzlock) today so I'm looking at your guide to hopefully get past the 3rd gym

Thank you for this Ela! I’m considering doing a Nuzlocke for the first time when I get Diamond/Pearl after watching your streams! I might also just do a shiny run - we’ll see how ambitious I get 😅

IN MY OPINION....MY FIRST CHOICE WOULD BE TURTWIG, SECOND IS PIPLUP, AND THIRD IS CHIMCHAR.... OTHER THAN ROARK, GARDENIA, AND CANDICE, I CANT SEE MYSELF USING CHIMCHAR IN A GYM FIGHT...ITS JUST TOO FRAIL...
