That's a good idea, how did you make it please? I don't really understand why Weihrauch sold the silencer as a complete kit instead of being a clamp on 1/2" UNF adapter. It would make the gun a bit easier to transport if the moderator unscrewed. It only just fits in my longest gun bag. However I don't want to detract from it, definitely worth the compromise for the reduction in noise. A very impressive bit of kit. All the best, stay safe 👍🏻

@@nickvending9688 if you are near your gun now just hold the moderator in the middle and turn it anticlockwise and it will anscrew leaving the adapter attached to the rifle just be careful not to loose the baffles in the moderator 👍

It surprised me, definitely worth having. Definitely worth it if (like near me) there are folk in the area that want to live in the country but not live a country life, i.e. don't want to hear anyone shooting because it offends their principles...

Yes, I think that sums it up. One of them feeds her dogs and cats Vegan pet food from Waitrose while saying she has no money.. Also misses the point that she dislikes me shooting rats, rabbits and pigeons but her cats are ok killing every animal they come across (and taking a dump in my veg plot). AHH the joys of country life 🙄. My wife's mildly tuned 97 isn't as nice to shoot as my factory 77, interesting that your experience is similar.

Hello Ian, the distance is 25yards. Yes I was surprised by the sound reduction, looking back at old footage of the HW77K it also seems to have somehow quietened down the spring noise which was an unexpected bonus.

I know, couldn't quite believe that the moderator had reduced the twang but it certainly seems to have done that as well as reducing the muzzle report. Pretty happy with that result.

The Dackel scale of sound moderation. It is an idea, certainly sounds legit.

Ha ha, you noticed. Yep, the backstop echoes well. I use all my rag in the workshop, but a good tip I had from the comments was filling the target holder with plumber's mait. Alternatively a paving slab on an angle works well.
