Currently more of a face lift than anything else, but clearly the sign of things to come. Hopefully the control panel features will remain accessible separately for those that want it.

Yeah, It seems to be lipstick on a pig. Underlying issues like FPS showing N/A is still a problem. At least the filter sliders work properly now.

Many thanks Mark, for sharing this video and for your brief but very clear explanation as to the content and applications of a new (beta) upgrade as well. I hope a final release will come soon to us, as I'm always a bit careful with software launched as a beta versions in relation to MSFS2020.

Re the overlay I'm finding the enhanced option (even just FPS) a bit too intrusive and the standard almost unreadable because of the white font particularly in MSFS, hopefully they'll give us colour options or switch back to Nvidia green.

Thanks Mark , having got my settings stable and all smooth I will wait for the Alpha ,never had a problem with G force experience , it would log on automatically.

For sims the 7800x3d is quite a bit better. Honestly, I don't know why simmer buy those overpriced, hot, and energy guzzers that are Intel. CPUs.

Looks like nVidia is slowly heading towards what AMD have been doing with their "Adrenaline" software suite, all in on place. This is actually a good move, I miss using Adrenaline, everything could be done there including GPU specific functions like manually OC'ing or under-volting the GPU and so on. With Adrenaline, I never had to use Afterburner to tweak fan curves, you can do that directly in Adrenaline. I do miss that software.

Maybe they should integrate the basic VR function that MSFT will no longer be supporting - ie something you don’t HAVE to use with VR, but a basic enabler so VR runs native and can be tightly integrated (better performance).

Very cool, I was actually forced to stop using GeForce Experience after discovering that there's a known bug where it crashes the Sim if you go from full screen to windowed mode. Has anyone else dealt with this and do we know if the beta has resolved this issue?

I was being nosy and saw you have anisotropic filter x8 in program setting. Would you recommend that over setting it in ncp?

Yes I do, but I have it set to 8 as using 4K monitor. When in VR it doesn’t make a visual difference if using 16 in my opinion.

As always, great video! I’m not able to visualize the FPS and other caracteristics in my VR Varjo Aero headset or am I doing something wrong?

No it will not display in the headset, on screen only unfortunately.

@@SimHangerFS I used to run an app called shift+Z which showed the fps, knots, altitude, temperature and many other nice features in my VR but since a MSFS update a few months ago the app doesn’t work anymore. Do you know another app that does the same thing in VR?

All KZfaqrs including yourself will need to update all your setup guides and performance improvements video's. Nice to see Nvidia is learning and taking hints of the much better AMD Adrenaline GPU Drivers Software suite. Now Nvidia just have to lower their GPU prices before I ever consider looking at them what's not going to happen soon because their focus and big money is on AI and not gamers / VR Flyers.

You don’t. You still need it for some functions. It will be phased out by Nvidia over various updates.

I tried the NVIDIA App. Messed up my game settings and had to go back and manually put them back the way they were for some games.............Unistalled 👎

I love you videos and always very helpflul. But this time, this NVidia Tool is not that good as it sounds here. The configuration it make ... is maybe good for users without know-how to handle setting in MSFS. Maybe it helps them. But for myself, it dos very bad choices of settings in MSFS. I had to remove it because it changes all the time my settings agiain and I was long surprised ... where it come from. Now I have removed ... and everything is back to normal... so be aware when you use this tool ... it manipulate your settings... not always in good... and that has finaly impact on FPS.

I'm not a fan. Nvidia is slowly making it impossible to download the driver without the bloatware. Soon they will do away with the control panel altogether and force people to use the GE Force Experience app. People should have the option to install the driver without the bloatware.

You can extract the downloaded software package into a folder. Then you go to "device manager" , Display Adapters, right click on your card, choose "update driver", then "Browse my computer for drivers". Select the folder that you extracted the package into. Your old software package will remain unaffected. Cheers😉
