We grew up on a ranch and always had dobermans who "raised" us!! Friends could come over as long as we were home but the dog didn't like them to come by unless we were there!! One of my parents long time friends tried to deliver something when we were gone and got relegated to the hood of his truck, then the dog turned around and then sat down watching him get back into the cab. Several hours later when we were home, he came back and inside the house, the dog was all cuddled up into his lap!!!! Our parents never feared for we three boys safety living out in the country, as long as the dog was with us!!!

Storm we’ve had six rescues so far in a little over your time frame. We generally adopted older dogs. Some were mixed breeds but looked like Dobermans. I think about the ones that passed often. We have one and will adopt another if he wants a companion. The one before him passed last year and a number of things made it difficult to get out to the rescue center.

Nagato Uzumaki just because you’re afraid of them doesn’t mean they look horrible.
@christystewart45675 жыл бұрын
Nagato Uzumaki usually when people have to say that sort of thing they are either afraid or jealous. Since I doubt you’re jealous of puppies my guess is you’re afraid of them. It’s like people who find spiders ugly. They are generally afraid of them. Or maybe you’re afraid of adult Dobermans which have had a bad reputation in the past like pit bulls do now. I don’t necessarily find tea cup sized purse dogs the cutest dogs in the world but the last thing I’d do is tell people who love them and do find them irresistible that I think they’re ugly or horrible looking. But, then, I don’t think they are I just prefer larger dogs.

I'm a Dachshund lover for EVER, but I enjoyed watching this fun video of these amazing dogs! And watching them from newborn to going to their new homes takes me back to the litters of puppies we've had, and the only difference is that Dachshund puppies crawl under things where Dobermans crawl over them!

In most Australian states, tail docking and ear cropping is illegal as they are not deemed medically necessary procedures.
@meghanschwartz32698 жыл бұрын
We are in NY and its legal here
@xxoxoyyoyo51338 жыл бұрын
+Jonathon Woodgate They can be indeed necessary,depending on what the dog is for.If it is a guarding/working dog it DEFINETLY needs its ears cropped and tail docked.It should be up to the owner in my opinion,I wouldn't want getting a dobe with long tail and floppy ears to be honest.
@JonathonWoodgate8 жыл бұрын
In no way can it ever be necessary! Would you want bits of your children's bodies hacked off at birth?
@xxoxoyyoyo51338 жыл бұрын
Jonathon Woodgate It can,if the dog is for guarding purposes you cant leave himn running around with long ears and a tail,simply because it becomes super vulnerable and an easy target,reduces their hearing abilities etc.It's a whole other debate if you're getting it just as a family dog though in which case I don't think cropping/docking is neccessary.
@JonathonWoodgate8 жыл бұрын
+Xxoxo “PerAsperaAdAstra” Yyoyo in a vulnerable position?? Decreased hearing?? Are you serious?? Docking and cropping are purely fashionable, and I defy you to produce any REPUTABLE veterinarian who will support your theories. The RSPCA here in Australia (and I presume the ASPCA in America and RSPCA in Britain as well) supports the banning of docking and cropping for good reason, in that there is no functional or medical benefit to the animal outside of the saving of its life and that continuing to do so is deemed deliberately harmful and cruel.

Be patient the road is longer than you might think. They will start to mellow out at about 4 months but watch for a lot of chewing. It may take as much as a year and a half to settle in. At 2 years they will be a true adult Doberman and that is usually when they become the most loving.
