Bloody beautiful! One of those rare moments when the Star Spangled banner is played like a real ANTHEM. Not a Bieberinian song.

I'm not American but I agree with the other comments in favour of a rendition like this and critical of the way pop stars sing it at major events. When performed well it's quite a dignified and inspiring anthem. I have a similar frustration with pop singers mangling my own country's (Australia's) national anthem at sporting events.

Their faces give me the impression of pain and jealousy. I get they are taught to hate America but some of their faces almost seem to say “help” in a way.
@CR-dq1ch4 жыл бұрын
@@brantphillips9133 Some thoughts from a half Korean half Swedish guy: Jealousy? Pain - probably. Being taught about the supposed (and sometimes real, no country is free of scruples) horrors of the US every day in school probably gives you a burning hate and it must be painful to stand there listening to the "enemies" anthem. At least they did not boo or show real disrespect - I saw US supporters boo during Russia's anthem in Sweden some years ago and that was unpleasant. I also think that some of their faces seem to almost panic, might be the cameras and the thought of them being hand picked for this event = a lot of pressure.

Little known fact about this, the orchestra almost refused to play because they wouldn’t let the American flag be on the stage and to the right, left if you are looking from the crowd. Which is was the US flag code states. Finally the conductor and the NK minders agreed for it to be there and how it was supposed to be displayed. 🇺🇸
@BrandonToy199611 жыл бұрын
It's amazing how they showed that much respect.
@jeanpauljh13 жыл бұрын
@bpconductor2282 It's fairly normal practice for orchestras to do that when they go abroad. Usually they play the anthem of the country they're visiting first and then their own national anthem.
@narukayars13 жыл бұрын

"well if you think of it deeply," why bother to be proud of being a human at the end of the day since you didn't choose to be a human, and then, therefore, why care about any connection at all to other people, why work together, and why not just going around committing crimes? i'll say it again, there isn't anything wrong with being proud of where you from, whether you're american, or french, chinese, or british. We should all be proud of our countries, and should WANT to work together.
