Hi. New subbie here. I recently started painting from scratch not knowing anything about art or painting. I started because I am a lost person right now. My mother past away my aunt past away my God Father past away. My uncle past away. I have no one anymore. So I found peace in painting. I searched art galleries and your channel came up. Im so grateful for the way you observe and explain the content. Thank you for sharing your voice and the music is peace for me as well. Thank you.

Thank you Mary Lynn, it's very generous of you to take the time and effort to share these experiences. Lovely smooth camera work and you possess an adorable voice. It's very calming. I really appreciate the content of your voiceover too. It takes bravery to talk publicly about art. All much appreciated.

Your interest and comments and obvious passionate interest of modern day art are touching. Thank you for sharing the goings on in the NYC art world. I watched this and cringed. I wonder what Michelangelo or da Vinci would say? Seriously! I remember reading an article in ArtNews about 40 years ago, and the gallery owners (like Saatchi) said that they didn’t consider showing any artist’s work unless they had shown ability to progress from a traditional education and ability. The early studies of Picasso are a great example. This is no longer true. I’ll never get it 😢. Guess beauty truly is “in the eye of the beholder”! Again thank you for your postings. ❤

We don't have many museums in San Antonio but the few we have are pretty nice. Miss going to MOMA and The Guggenheim. I appreciate your videos, you are doing a great service to older people like me. Thank you Mary Lynn for your Chelsea gallery tour. I haven't been to Chelsea galleries since Covid shut down. You KZfaq tour helped me reconnect with art. Your commentary is excellent, your are there, informative but not obtrusive. It works well with the music background, makes an it enjoyable experience. I often spend time on KZfaq looking at art, artists, art exhibits and your channel came up, it was a fortunate find. I like Angel Otero, it seems I have see him before, but collaging of oil skins is quite effective. I like the focus on the image, and the story behind them. I love the chair in the bathtub, looks like a good way to get out of summer heat! I also liked Diana al-Hadid. I am teaching art history and saw sculptural connections. I have subscribed. Look forward to more. When we are back to "normal" will you be giving tours in person? I have attended a few Chelsea Gallery tours in the past. Leonard

So, after watching this video I'm excited again. Too bad the Documenta 15 show in Kassel, Germany, hasn't much that makes it worth while for me to go there. I've always enjoyd these shows.

I think the first and the last exhibits were my favorites. The last, where the rags were configured together, reminded me of something I did in graduate school. I am talking aesthetically only. The narrative was completely different. I find it amazing when people can articulate their work so well. I have had a difficult time doing that with my own work. I feel like I am just learning how to do that. I appreciate these videos, because it is helping me to consider more deeply, why I am painting what I paint.

Although there were some pieces that definitely approached art, it was not the majority. For me, one of the tests for aesthetic validity is how well the art piece stands up to time. I wonder how well doll baby heads, cartoon characters and cute animals will be viewed in 50 years. I am a painter, but I saw little evidence of the artists attempts to create abstract images that move a persons psyche or physical wellness. I do see a lot of re-creation of common topics of misuse, racial bias, power misuse and political domination, which I find passe'. And so, I will have to go with the sculpture for moving me to thought. The painting just doesn't have it for me. But many thanks for your thoughtful review. I no longer live close to NY and the art district - I do miss seeing that.

Most of this was just pretentious art-babble. "He's making commentary on culture with these paintings." How to talk about something without saying anything. "He's moving away from the abstract into a mix of more recognisable objects." Oh good, he's not just painting blobs anymore, this one's a chair! "This sculpture lives in a state between construction and de-construction." haha oh you mean she almost finished it? lol I found the commentary in this video unintentionally hilarious.
