Love this kinda of history that you can still see hidden among the hustle and bustle of the modern city today. Unaware of the hidden secrets the city still has the scars to show that it happened.

Did you know in 1945 a b25 accidentally crashed into the Empire State Building because of heavy fog. Fourteen people died (three crewmen and 11 people inside)

Yes, b25 plane - but explosion not by intent. Do you know, lift operator Betty Lou Oliver's elevator car fell 75 floors and *she lived!* (due to cables looping and air compressing under the car) - still the record for a survived elevator drop.

Actually, I am aware of that happening. They were still teaching, arithmetic, grammar, geography, history, and science when I went to school. Unfortunately, there is no time for that now, with critical race theory, gender studies, political history and science, and Marxism filling the curriculum these days.

We were just on Wall Street and at Fraunces Tavern last month and I had no idea about any of this history. My son is a NYC transplant and is going to fascinated by this.

4:16 Fort Dix is a full 72 miles away from 18 w11 NYC. Fraunce's Tavern - best unknown place to visit. One of my favorite places in NY. Museum upstairs is essential to visit.

J.P. Morgan didn’t repair the building because he wanted the city to pay for the repairs and the city refused. It was done out of greed not the way you said it

This was quite interesting, Chris. Although I'd heard of the Wall Street bombing, I don't remember the coverage being enough that I even remembered the death toll and number of injured. It strikes me that, even though three different groups perpetrated these attacks, they all had one thing in common: they were all sort of deranged. Anarchists always seemed demented to me, and the idea of protesting war by killing people seems illogical, but as has been pointed out by smarter people than I, all killers are mad. (I enjoyed seeing the interior of one of the oldest taverns in the New World. I think my racing team would've enjoyed getting "mellow" in those surroundings!)
