As a New Yorker who has lived here for more than 40 years. I remember exactly where I was on 911 and what I went through. It was hell. I used to go to the world trade center often. Shopping, dinner, free concerts. I was planning to go there the day before 911 and changed my mind. I said " I will go over the weekend" the next day it was gone. Just like that. Gone for ever. I have NOT gone back there ever since that day. I just can't. I really don't know how I will react. Yes people from all over the world visit. I'm glad they do. I'm hoping someday I will go back there again. I'm glad you went there Jordan. I really am. I never dreamed that I would ever experience this in my life. NEVER!!

Rev. Jenny Osorio Same here. I used to walk from E. 59 St. & 2nd Av. to the WTC, get a sandwich and coffee at a deli catty corner from Borders, use the PATH restrooms and eat supper on the E train. No more.

I was in NYC a few years ago on Sept. 12 and visited the 911 museum and memorial. There were so many flowers, and wreaths and notes surrounding the area. One could not help but get tears and feel the extreme sense of loss. Let’s never forget that tragic day in our history.

Jordan thank you so much for this vlog in particular. I have been to NYC many times and saw some things I've never seen before. Also, I had the opportunity to serve with The Salvation Army on West and Vessey St in a canteen serving the first responders and meeting both their physical and spiritual needs as well. Just an FYI St Paul's church was a place of healing for all first responders, family of the victims and those of who were there to serve. It was filled with pictures of those who had lost their lives, pictures of those still being searched for along with many stories from families about their lives. It was such a touching place to be during that time. It not only was spared from that fire you spoke of but yet another miracle happened it survived the attacks and eventual debris from the buildings as they fell during 911. May all who lost their lives RIP. The first responders there have my respect always. Many refused to stop looking and and didn't want to stop when their shift was over. This was truly touching for me to watch today. Thank you so much. You are a blessing to many of us.

I was 16 when the 9/11 attacks happned. I was in Math class when our principal come on and told all the teachers to turn on their T.V. as soon as my Math teacher did the 2nd plane hit the 2nd Tower. I will never forget seeing the plane hit the 2nd Tower. It's forever ingrained in my mind. My heart still breaks for the families and loved ones. Also the Chelsea Hotel is pretty cool and I bet it could be haunted from all of it's History. You had everything from tragedies to music to the Stock Market in one vlog. Just the whole vlog was amazingly done Jordan.

Thank you SO MUCH for starting out with the beautiful old Chelsea Hotel. I used to have friends who lived about a half a block down 23rd Street and when I'd visit them I always took the opportunity to see as much of the neighborhood as possible. The Chelsea was one of my first stops and the memory of that old lobby is very clear to me. Seeing the image you just showed really broke my heart - but I knew it was going to have to be done. The old lobby was very dark, with lots of old, aged polished wood and brass and Victorian-era furniture. A small desk faced the door as you entered. You would have felt like you had stepped back into Victorian times if it weren't for the art work. The walls were filled with paintings by local artists and covering all eras and genres. You could just sit in there and absorb it all. I remember thinking that they must have had every single inch of space filled with art! I wonder where that all went? Esthetically speaking, I agree with the resident who said that it's all ruined now but the fact was that it was a huge fire hazard that failed to meet code on many points. They were forced to redo or close down permanently. I do hope they keep the decor of the rooms true to the old hotel!

Thank you for taking us through Manhattan. The WTC memorial was a proper way to end this vlog. I experienced eating at the Windows on the World Restaurant 3 times while living in New York before 9/11/2001. I’ve been back in California and still remember going to work that morning with a heavy heart and in total shock. Thanks again for all you do, Jordan. 🌹❤️🙏🏻

Loved this! If you’re still in New York, look up Nelson Sullivan, his friend has a YT channel for him, He did what you’re doing in the 1980’s in NY, His work is preserved at the fales library at nyu, he lived in the meat packing district, his home is still there and people go there just to visit and stand on the steps, he had a dog named blackout that was in many of his videos & was a mentor to a young RuPaul who lived there with him at one point, he knew almost everyone of celebrity status, in those days, it’s so nostalgic to watch his videos, you will see him go to the Chelsea to visit his friend Christina, who sadly died at the Chelsea in1989. & all the Big clubs & events, you will see a lot of people before they were famous in his videos & him just hanging with his friends & so many buildings & places that aren’t there anymore, he sadly died of a heart attack in 1989 at the young age of 41 years old, he was a special person & awesome videographer in his day, Have Fun in NY Jordan! Thanks for the video, I loved it!!

Oooh, The Chelsea! So much history there, so many famous people lived and died there. I had no idea though about Janis Joplin and Leonard Cohen hooking up. You made me want to listen his song about it. Many thanks for teaching me something new today. But for me, it will forever be the Sid and Nancy hotel. I hope you do get to stay there next year because that would be super cool! And the old CBGB's....whoa so groovy how they they left the walls as is! That place is simply amazing. I think it's cool beans how they had those set lists. High Roller, California Man and Love Burns are all stellar tracks. What Ever Happened To My Rock and Roll is also another hands down spectacular cut. So tragic about the The World Trade Center. What a nice way to end the vlog. Looking forward to seeing what tomorrow has in store for us.

Actually those parking rates looked about the same as where I live (in Canada!) Rumour has it, our city has the most pricey parking in North America ! It's nuts! Great blog, Jordan!! TY!!💜

Great vlog, again J. I almost debated not to watch, because, I knew I would cry when you showed us the WTC. I did. Even seeing the memorial through a computer monitor, it is very powerful and touching and hurts your soul - just knowing what took place that dreadful morning. RIP to those who lost everything. On a happy note, your Ambassador Hotel vlog came on afterwards, and your beard is off....You look great both with and without it...but it does look kinda cool. Great History lessons you share with us J. the Lion. All are very much appreciated from the heart. - Julie in Alum Rock (San Jose) California. And yep, those palm tree's are all over the place! (Remember the Winchester Mystery House even, even with Santana Row right across the street). God Bless and safe travel!

This one is awesome I love the song ,love Lenorad Cohan. I have often wondered why artists seem to be attracted to certain areas ,like the Chelsea Hotel & some times buildings. My husband an artist & a musician believes it's because they are always broke & look for cheap places to gather to eat or live. I think it's more than that , as I look back at those young people who gathered in our home were all helping each other by basking in a mutual "vibe". Now as a older person ,my home is full of records, artwork , furniture all made by friends & given to me for believing that true talent needs to be nurtured. Nice that you got to see NYC and we're able to pay tribute to all the lives lost on 911. Jordan you are amazing to be able to cover so much in one vlog.

This was a fascinating vlog on so many historical places. You did a beautiful job. Watching this tonight and feeling sad about our country and how much has changed since you made this vlog. Love that you showed the historical statues as they may not be there today. They represented the history of our country and were beautifully done. To see the World Trade Center Memorial so up close was emotional and I'm so glad you showed it to us. I also loved the detailed (bronze looking) plaques at the fire house. May we never forget the history, good or bad,of this country. Thank you Jordan.

I can understand how the 35 year tenant of the Chelsea Hotel would feel like its been ruined by renovations because it would be the same as someone saying "we Are going to renovate the gothic cemetery" It's like saying we're gonna rewrite history. Something along those lines. Awesome to hear that the great poet laurite Patti Smith played the last gig at CBGB's before it closed.

Was in NYC spring of 2002. Saw footprints of the WTC. Could not believe how big they were. Also remember how we sat on the steps of Federal Hall, eating street hot dogs, which were really good. Very large police presence there, but with some humor. As we looked to the right of the hall, in an alley way, a K9 Officer and his dog were playing ball. Guess they were on break🙃

This was an incredible journey! If I ever make it to NY , this has pretty much been my same tour. It's sad to see CBGBs as a boutique (? ) and I'm glad they preserved some parts of the walls, even though they did it out of greed. The Chelsea was also home to many of the people involved in the 90s "club kid" movement, and there are some great interior shots on the home-made videos by Nelson (who documented it from the inside, camcorder in hand). I know it's not as interesting as Ginsberg or Nico, just thought you might want to check out the footage. As for the 911 stuff... As always I was in tears. It certainly affected the lives of everyone old enough to remember that day. I hope I can get to NY one day to pay my respects... Excellent video, my friend. Just top notch.

Great outside shots of the Chelsea Hotel. I've actually been there once before but it was on a whirlwind day of walking, traveling all over Manhattan & I don't recall actually how imposing of a building it is. I remember the plaque outside for Thomas Wolfe, an author I highly recommend. I walked inside & looked around the lobby. This video definitely makes me want to go back for a visit.

Visited NYC for the first time from the UK this last week and went to a lot of iconic places inc the Hotel Chelsea which as you prob know is open again. Was able to sit in the lobby which still has the original fireplace and picture above seen in photos going back to the Arthur Miller days. Awesome to know your standing in the same place as all those icon's you mention plus countless others...Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Tom Waits, Iggy Pop. CBGB's was cool to see in person too. As i was leaving the young lad inside pointed out a carving set in the tarmac by the fire hydrant just outside on the left > CBGB's '73 😎🤘 The 911 memorial pools was a very sobering experience 🥲

Right in the heart of the cities. Thank You for all of this!! The Chelsea Hotel is beautiful. The start of P.T. Barnum's Museum was a incredible story! The 9/11 Memorial, just watching it/seeing it was humbling.

I live in New York, but have never been to NYC. You're very lucky to travel the way you do and see so much! I came across one of your videos earlier and kept watching. I would love to see the Chelsea Hotel. I'm a huge fan of the Sex Pistols and Sid Vicious. I've seen some documentaries and movies about the Chelsea Hotel, and it was basically a drug den and mainly artists and famous people lived there. There's footage of Sid Vicious being walked out after being arrested for the murder of Nancy Spungen, his girlfriend, and also her being brought out in a body bag. Very tragic. It was before my time, I'm an 80's baby, but I love the British and New York Punk scene. Great video!

I thought I was going to cry my eyes out returning to the WTC once the park, memorial and WTC 1 were completed. I didn't - it ended up providing some of the closure I needed to help me process all the grief and loss. Everything looked different, but it felt the same as it did the last time I was there, pre-9/11. Good things were happening.

Not according to Mick. And in England they are not called drugstores they are chemists. The Chelsea Hotel in New York was a well known place to score. But then again rock stars often tell three or four different stories about lyrics to songs. Sometimes they don't want us to know.I have heard two completely differing stories about what Comfortably Numb is about. Both versions from Roger Waters himself. So I find it interesting. Also the Chelsea Drugstore in London isn't a drug store it's a pub. I guess it's open to interpretation.
