I usually journal when I feel the need to journal-- when I'm intensely happy, or upset, when a political event rocked my world, when I want to capture a moment in words. sometimes a month can go by before I write anything, but I love the fact that I don't force myself to write consistently, because I use my journal more as a memoir of sorts lol, and looking back, I always feel like my entries really reflected who I was at that time, instead of forcing myself to write repetitive exercises.

I SOOO relate to seeing such an evolution in my sense of self and confidence by looking back at these "video journal" vlogs. It's truly one of the best parts of vlogging my journey in nyc:') also I'm loving your dark brown hair!!!

When I journal, I just go with whatever it’s in my heart and mind at that moment. I don’t think it should be structured unless you use your journal with organization purposes which I don’t. I do it for the sake of clearing my head.

I journal whatever is on my mind and often I used it when I am feeling overwhelmed. I think it is important not to put as much pressure on yourself. It isn't a competition and the only one who benefits from it is yourself. I think it is important to journal when you want or feel like it is a nice way of dealing with something but otherwise if you don't feel like it you shouldn't force yourself cause then it becomes a task and not something you're looking forward to do. As we all know you tend to do the things you look forward to not the things you force yourself to do at least in the long run.

I’ve been journaling more than usual lately and honestly what has been inspiring me is books like Dracula where the story is built from characters’ diaries! And I typically just write about what I’ve been up to and things I want to remember

YESSSS girl! We love being tall & still wearing heels. I remember I always hated being taller than everybody else and felt so insecure but now I love ittttt and weer platforms/heels whenever I can

When I don’t feel like journaling, I usually don’t force myself to write a TON. I journal in a more stream of consciousness style because it helps me get feelings out that I wasn’t even aware of. Sometimes I almost force myself to write a certain amount of pages or lines or whatever (bad habit bc I am a writer) BUT when I don’t feel like writing, I write just a few lines. Or I’ll do an audio file of “journaling”. I like those a lot too

Oooh what a long satisfying vlog - fabulous! It's truly joyful to see life in NYC is basically back to normal. Also, it's so exciting to see someone doing something creative and self directed for a living.

How I Journal: I realized over this past year I realized I only journaled when super anxious or depressed as a way to get my emotions out on the page and process. I then decided I didn't want that to be the only time I wrote anything, so I started to try to at least journal some sort of topic each day. So either I'll look up a prompt through like pinterest If I don't have anything on my mind that I want to ruminate on or after meditating something usually will come to me, or I will recap something im grateful for so that I can keep the good memories all solidified. I find that then I usually cover all bases, processing the tough stuff, documenting the good, but also delving into the internal part of my life and processing that too. Answering my own self questions has also been very helpful

I can't wait to see the merch! I was actually just wondering about it yesterday as a matter of fact. It's been so long since you first mentioned making merch! and Happy Birthday!! And I've been journaling every day for years, I just do stream of consciousness and write through the problems I'm having. Most of my entries are pretty repetitive because I'm always dealing with the same things, ha. But putting stuff out on the page helps me put things out of my mind so I can focus on the day ahead of me

My journaling style is very much improvisation, i do what i feel like then and there. Sometimes I'll google prompts and use those/come up with my own, other times i just draw a smiley face and write whatever comes to mind. Its random, but I definitely see a pattern with whether I'm organised or messy based on my mood.

Just loveee ur vlogs!!! For me, I kinda love adding some form of creativity in my journal and I always start by quoting some music lyrics that match my current vibe (it's usually Taylor Swift)

for journaling, Amy Landino's channel talks about morning pages and just word vomiting what is on your mind the first moments after you wake up. she does 3 pages, but I just shoot for 1 page of just gibberish, it's really liberating and helps make sense of my feelings etc

I journal too and I follow a stream of consciousness. The best tip I heard was “the day you don’t journal, is the day you probably need to the most!”. I do it nearly every day now 🥰

I have a calendar and a strip on the side that I leave blank for highlights and write a line or two of my highlights of each day. Easy to do doesn’t feel intimidating to write a whole page or something all the time

I’m in the middle of reading On Earth We’re briefly Gorgeous and the writing is just amazing and heartbreaking at the same time 😭😭 For journaling, I would say im more of the stream of consciousness type - usually when I write what’s on my mind I read my thoughts over and feel a sense of lightness that everything isn’t just stuck in my head anymore and I can see it from a different perspective 💓

Hi Elena! When I journal, I usually start off with the date, time, and location. If I'm in a coffee shop, I'll write what I ordered and how much it costs lol I imagine being old and wrinkly reading back into my journal like "wow, an almond chai latte was only $6 back then!" haha

When I journal, it's stream of consciousness. I haven't been journaling recently, either. but I think that's okay...I use it for therapy anyways, so if I don't feel like writing, it just means I'm in an okay place in life...

I like to do journal but not the regular way, I have my notebook and when I feel the need to do it, or right on certain days I wrote a bunch of pages and let my self fly in to these pages and feel so much light weight ❤️ hope u are okey

I journal freely, but sometimes I get prompts from Pinterest, Tumblr or just take interesting self reflective questions from podcasts.

I’ve been having such a hard time journaling lately !! I just feel like in my life currently im going thru some intense and happy life changes it’s just the scary changes i don’t want to write down bc it makes me frustrated writing it if that makes sense !
