True you are right......this was a very well thought out video.........unfortunately people want info fast and high paced with stimulating music at times. They want a scene to keep on changing and less to do with someone talking on camera. I watched it but was loosing interest myself.........

From the NYC parks website in 2009: "Funding for the project includes $112.2 million from the City, $20.3 million from the federal government, and $400,000 from the State." "Remaining funds will be raised privately by Friends of the High Line as part of their operating agreement with the City. To date, Friends of the High Line has raised $44 million in their capital campaign for the High Line" www.nycgovparks.org/news/daily-plant?id=21962. That's a LOT of public money that should have gone to NYC schools or elderly. Now in 2020 and the High Line is not a park New Yorkers go to, because on a normal day it's jam packed with tourists, with a line walking north and a line walking south. I live 2 blocks away, and frequently work on the other side of it. No one I know or work with visits the High Line. The gentrification boom all around the High Line is jarring.

The fumes and noise must be tremendous up there. It's funny how these cities rip down all of their green places getting rid of grass and trees. Then later they realize how important this is to humans and they try and put nature back into a city. Hey I own my how house with a garage, mini-barn, and shed with a 8,000 square foot yard where birds, squirrels, hummingbirds flit in and out and it doesn't cost me $4,000 per month rent and up to have all of this stuff. I really don't see how New Yorkers can stand the constant noise morning, noon and night. And the argument that they've got all of this culture, museums and plays to make up for the noise and confusion doesn't quite wash. New York is too expensive, too noisy, too everything good and bad.
