A montage of color films taking place in New York City, during the whimsical 1950s and 60s (with a couple selections from the 1930s and 40s).

Thanks. It's just stock music from the KZfaq library. Cannot remember the title offhand.

- In the "BUtterfield 8" scene, bus #2966 was a cousin of the so-called "Jackie Gleason bus" #2969, and in fact both were part of the late 1950 order for New York City Omnibus (which, by 1960, had been Fifth Avenue Coach Lines, Inc. for four years). - The (Douglas) Leigh-EPOK Bulova billboard as presented between 1966-7 and 1970 (Buitoni restaurant closed in 1970, Wienerwald moved in for the next several years, and Flagg Bros. around the same time moved into the old I. Miller store).

Was the "Jackie Gleason bus" what Ralph supposedly drove for the Gotham bus company?

@@gluecement - Apparently Gotham Bus was a thinly-disguised New York City Omnibus. After all, NYCO in those days operated the Madison Avenue route which was then crosstown (became one-way NB in 1966). But #2969 was built in late 1950 for NYCO and remained in service to about 1966-67. As of 1960 it, like 2966, would have operated on the 18 - 86th Street Crosstown - but it was flagged as #2 Madison Avenue for the purposes of that photo session where Gleason and his cast posed inside.

Would you say NY is the most commonly used movie location ever?

That is from "The Group" (1966).which takes place from 1933 to 1940. Location is Astor Place. Building on the right is now a Starbucks.

Well done! I have made similar montages, which can be found on my channel. I try to match visuals with music (using traditional musical instruments) that is roughly contemporary. I found your video while searching for footage for an upcoming video.
