I just moved to NYC for the first time and had no idea how wild it was! I'm so curious to know who the broker/property management group you disliked is. I had a pretty sketchy-feeling experience with a couple during our hunt. I'm glad you found a place! I'm hoping to move to Brooklyn after I finish school!

Wondering how you were able to move all that glassware without breaking it? Bubble wrap and other plastic wraps/packing peanuts obvi not an option, so did you use t shirts or blankets?

I had leftover paper packaging from when things were shipped to me that I saved and then just wrapped in towels and clothing! I wasn't going too far though, only one glass ended up breaking. Would be much harder if I was actually shipping them.

this might be a personal or heavy kinda question but are u a Brooklyn native? how do u feel abt the heavy gentrification in New York as a whole, I want to move to New York but I also don’t want to add to the gentrification either

skiddni literally my first thought. Born and raised in the Bronx and I see it Starting here. So glad I don’t live in Brooklyn, SOOO much gentrification it’s really sad

Yeah I mean it's really hard. This definitely isn't something I ignore but it's just something that I personally am not sure the solution to. I'm someone who moved here when I was young and I didn't understand the implications truthfully. But I've spent a lot of time listening and learning. But I also am someone who isn't living here or moved here with the help of anyone else so I really can't afford to live in the city. I try to tread lightly in the community I live in as I realize it isn't mine. I support all local neighborhood businesses when I can and try to get to know them on personal levels. I know that doesn't fix the problem and I know it's sad and it's definitely a multifaceted issue, one that I have yet to get an answer to what is the best for me to do. I try to make the most conscious decisions I can make. To me, it seemed to do less damage moving into neighborhoods that are already very gentrified instead of pushing the issue further out into Brooklyn which is definitely happening as the L is shutting down which didn't feel right to me to do. Again, I've talked to many people, people who are from here, about this and always get a different perspective so it's hard to know what is right but it's definitely not something that isn't on my mind or conscious. and definitely is something that people need to understand before moving here. I would make a video on this but sometimes it just feels like it isn't my place to give my perspective but also isn't something we should be silent about.

Wear I Live I toooootally hear u, and also plz don’t think this is me being negative towards u, I understand u did move there young and now ur life has formed and that’s where ur life is, so I totally understand, but it feels good to hear ur take on it bc it’s something I think abt constantly before I move anywhere. Priscilla Bronx I recently visited New York, and I saw it happening in Harlem and the Bronx heeeeeavy, stay strong, keep ur neighborhood alive for as long as u can, it starts w us, my city is being heavily gentrified as well and there’s always demonstrations and rallies against it, keep fighting
