@@anguscooper1295 I agree. Black widow bike was nothing but cut, bent, and welded round stock of webs here and there. That's the bike they built that started it all and continued on the same slap on look "design" and really no engineering behind it. Also. Interesting. We went a couple of years back on a New England tour so on one day went to OCC and the next to Chasing Classic Cars in Hartford CT. couldn’t have been two more contrasting experiences. OCC was a soulless commercial place with the bikes the only attraction. CCC was homely, friendly more personal experience with the manager welcoming us, we were free to wander around looking at the cars. Didn’t meet Wayne Carini as he was in the middle of filming but all together would go there again rather than OCC ( can’t now anyway of course)

OCCs bikes were nothing more than trailer filler & garage art. Completely in practical and not even street legal. They had a lot of instances of very questionable engineering, like notching frames to make parts fit, which makes them structurally unsound and unsafe to ride. They were also extremely underpowered, usually using a stock Harley crate motor with only 65 HP. That’s only about 40 HP more than a commercial zero turn riding lawnmower. It also irritated me when they would use a bunch of prefabricated parts (frames, tanks, fenders, etc…) in a mix and match way, then call the bike “custom”. The chopper craze was a fad, and when it disappeared, so did most of the builders fortunes.

OCC didn't have a chance after Paul Jr. left. @@joehovanec1985 how nice for you to armchair quarterback. Senior built the business a decade before there was a junior or anyone else in the mix...he actually worked a real job instead of the spoon fed youth who think they should get everything without putting in the time. Not saying junior wasn't/isn't extremely talented but I this generation that won't pay their dues and get handed stuff and aren't appreciative...well, no way my kids would ever expect or act like that. But I get it, Senior played a role...they all did. Producers wanted heroes and villains. It was another fake reality TV show after all. And yet another reason I have all but given up TV. Heck I ride my Harley more, fish more, and don't miss the idiot box at all now that I got the weather on my phone...I don't even need to listen to the liberal news drivel. OCC was a cultural phenomenon, it made them all into stars and changed a lot of lives. Are any of them Indian Larry? Heck no! Arlen Ness? Again, a man who built his skills over many years, decades in quiet... his sons stuff today isn't the same...it seems contrived almost. Hard to beat an original of anything. I had a couple original Arlen Ness parts on a bike in the 80's...wish I still had the old bike and those parts. I miss the days when rallies were wild, bikes were raw and loud, the men had true decades of miles and scars, and the women didn't have tattoos, lol! Today's rallies are a shopping experience and a concert of mostly wanna be performers and crowd members. I bought my first HD 2 days out of the infantry on a handshake. The owner of the shop carried the note for me personally and gave me a discount for fighting for our country...I delivered or mailed a check to that man for a year until it was all mine. I slept in the dirt beside it, learned how to live the life, and learned what it truly meant to earn a club patch. I doubt a guy would do that in today's world...pay one's dues over time and take what's given to ya and not complain... Or hey, be "offended" over words like the pansies of today. Well, you got your opinions and I've dumped mine...but whatever. If you ride, call in sick and ride and smile. I did today...rode 5 hours with a buddy who's already retired and we stopped for gas and a sandwich and both couldn't wait to get back in the wind after the snow and ice. Riding is a gift, hope you enjoy it as much as you can.

I have very mixed feelings over these bikes yes it’s lovely to make a tribute to the fallen heroes or fireman but these are not motorcycles per say they maybe works of art but that’s it I’d much rather see a motorcycle shop dedicated to building bikes that are practical let’s face it most of them are extremely ugly overpriced and 100% pointless 😐

3:55 Oh no!!!! Mikey is hosting an open mic? I am a musician in Austin, Texas and I was playing a gig on the famous 6th street. Right in the middle of my gig a very drunk Mikey walks in the venue. We gave him a tambourine in which he could not play because he has no rhythm. After a bunch of people took photos with him he left. I have a few photos from that night.

None of their bikes had suspension systems of any kind in them. This means you're going to feel every pebble on the road and forget about putting miles on them.
@badmonkey2222
@badmonkey2222 3 жыл бұрын
That's even if you can get them to go more than 5 miles without breaking down or something breaking, that was the main complaint that I've read from just about everybody that's bought a bike from them that they were total garbage when it came to rideability, a lot of people had to buy new engines because the basic engines they came with had no horsepower, overpriced garage ornaments...

What it also means is that they used the cheapest rigid frame you could buy on a bike costing tens of thousands. Big time rip-off.

@@news603redux if you bought a bike from OCC ten years ago for 80k that same bike is worth 8k today and that's a fact because i know someone who just bought a bike built by them that was supposedly worth 90 grand when it was built and he paid 6,500 for it and said it rides like shit and won't even start when it's under 40° outside.

Some of the bikes are awesome pieces of art, some a garish, clever but garish and they've not aged well. But hey that's kinda what choppers are about, including the fact that some will be awful to ride. Thank God somebody follows their dreams though - right? I understand it's all sold off and gone now - so you got in just in time? I feel sorry for the employees/staff, but without the arguments and drama I don't suppose we would have had the long running show - hard to watch at times, especially for the boys and, at times, Snr, he, like everyone, had good in him too, just didn't let it out often enough.
