Bro I had the privilege of going to WD-50 in it's day. I remember being served, from the tasting menu, a bowl of cereal...rather, what appeared to be a bowl of cereal. Took a spoonful...it tasted like I had just taken a bite of pizza. Lmao it was so crazy. Just a wild thing for your brain to deal with. I remember leaving that restaurant and just being inspired as hell, creatively. I got a lot of mileage out of that particular dose of inspiration, come to think of it lol. Wiley is great

I had my 25th birthday dinner at WD-50 back in 2005. What a phenomenal experience that was. Me and my two friends were the last table in there, and Wylie’s dad hung out at our table, pouring wine for us while holding his little dog. They invites us into the kitchen at the end, but at that point, I was too smashed to remember much beyond thanking Wylie and the team a thousand times. A few years later, I went in and sat at the bar. At the time, I just started getting really into crafting cocktails, and was working on a menu for the restaurant I was working at. I talked shop with the bartender for hours, getting smashed again… 😂 He said he was working on a kimchee Bloody Mary and had me try it. Incredible. I think I may have helped the staff put the chairs up that night and closed up with them. Fun times.

I feel like alc and may where greatly different pov’s on the food, especially alc with a delicate but ever evolving palette, and May with the vegatarian/vegan pov. Body was the shenanigans you’re talking bout is what I’m feeling.

@@tony67831 I see what you're saying. I didn't hate the "crew" episodes but it seemed more like a fish out of water type scenario, all the time, rather than what I wanted to see. They could do a completely different show where he takes his boys to eat and it would work. I prefer FTD to be the way hes doing it this season. Season 3 especially, felt like it was just a little like "Vice is paying. Where we going?". Which is cool, but I just much prefer this low key type vibe.
