Taking its name from Father Demo Square, an Italian landmark in Greenwich Village, the wine bar Demo is located on Carmine Street. Much like Claud and Tolo, this spot in New York is a modern wine bar, offering an excellent wine list as well as diverse culinary experiments inspired by Spain, Italy, and France. It's introduced not as a traditional French bistro but rather as a remixed bistro.
During the day, Demo sells coffee, kitchen goods, and groceries, and it's interesting to note that it shares its kitchen with the nearby bagel shop Greenberg's Bagel! One of Demo's three owners is also the owner of the bagel shop, making this collaboration possible. They plan to further collaborate between the two spaces and cuisines to create something new.
Their goal is to create a comfortable space where guests feel at home, hence the warm and cozy atmosphere throughout the interior, which complements the wine and food perfectly.
🐝Pro tip:
You can walk in without a reservation and dine at the bar!
Wine prices are reasonable, but the food tends to be on the pricier side. Enjoy a simple meal and indulge in plenty of wine!
