Walking on 5th Avenue from 79th to 78th Street. The Harry F. Sinclair House currently the Ukrainian Institute in America at 2 E79 Street was one of the locations in the 1999 movie Cruel Intentions.
In the movie, the building is known as the Valmont Mansion - where step-siblings Kathryn Merteuil (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe) lived and wreaked havoc on their friends and enemies.
This is the first mansion with the American and the Ukrainian flag in the video and the thumbnail.
Since the architecture of the building is so exciting, the limestone ornamentation is so elaborate I'll make a separate video just for this house.
The next door beautiful building on 5th Avenue is the Cultural Services of the French Embassy followed by the James B. Duke mansion at 1 E78th Street currently the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University.
