Explore the cutting-edge Grand Avenue Bus Depot in Queens, NY, opened in 2008, this eco-friendly hub is revolutionizing city transit. Locating in Maspeth, Queens, this depot is a modern back up the East New York Bus Depot's central maintenance facility. It can take care of buses from multiple fuel sources from all depot throughout New York City. This depot is know for big hauling services provided. Since my childhood, the B47 was the start of my Grand Avenue Depot experiences. Until my late teenage years, more routes I rode on were mocking the experiences I was feeling for buses in Queens besides a frequent stop and go journey they have like other Brooklyn bus depots. And for their bus fleets, these buses were following to be eco-friendly like Manhattanville Depot, the main greenest depot in Harlem, NY. Mainly the hybrids are making the green game like, the New Flyer XDE40s they had since 2018 and 2021. As this depot has much of the good vibes, safety concerns with invasions like for other depots, increases distress for the public and its incoming workers. Overall, this depot makes a great history to being a prodigy of Brooklyn hustling community.

Man grand avenue depot at some point was one of the MTA NYCT depots with the most Next Gen Hybrids.

14:03 Did you ride any NG HEVs out of this depot before GA Depot became 100% Xcelsior like almost every bus depot in Brooklyn and MCH Depot before April 2023? If so, then great. RIP GA GH, KB, MJQ, MCH, TA, and QV Depot Next Gens, Old Gens, and other previous buses. This cause of retirement was due to the new Hybrids and diesels. Once these Orions leave NYC, the 3Gs will be the last Orion VIIs to remain, and eventually, this is it. I really miss these at GA so much

@@AutomotiveTaurus You need to ride more of these before they are all retired. The oldest unit, 3800 is now scrapped

At 8:20, the 2017 New Flyer XD60 buses were returned to Tuskegee Airmen Depot Manhattan Division.

14:13 UP Depot would have became a full Xcelsior fleet if the Gen-2+ OG HEVs at that depot ended in 2020, and the Next Gen era in 2022

11:15 It is now 12 years of these buses and they should soon be retired once the 2025 version of these XD60s comes. If they have screens while retirement progress, they should be transferred to other buses that do not have screens. And these 2025 XD60s are most going to be in Brooklyn because even though they got the 2019s, Brooklyn still gets New Flyer buses, so does Manhattan and Queens. Staten Island is slated to get XE40s, which Charleston Depot is going to get them. For the XE40s (if you forgot where it will be assigned to), it is going to go to ENY, MJQ, JA, GA, KB, and Charleston Depot. For the 2025 XD60s, it is unconfirmed about the depot assignments.

8:37 Does that mean GA Depot still had the 1999 models? If so, then there were still more RTSs even after the 9000 Series are retired quickly. The thing is that about the lifts on the 1999 models, their lifts are transparent, and can fold back successfully like the Orion Vs and the D60HFs. In fact, no Orion Vs/D60HFs retired prematurely, but I was happy they remained in service until 2016 (Orion Vs) and 2019 (D60HFs).
