They need to realize comics aren't movies and that the existence of a movie doesn't take away from the comics. This is an asian female writer and an asian female directors interpretation of the character.

The mute Cassandra Cain from the comics was created by a white man for a largely white audience. This version is written by an Asian woman for a global audience. Every Asian superhero shouldn't be a skilled kung fu fighter. It's a stereotype. Movies aren't comics. Shang chi, Cassandra Cain, Katana are all stereotypical.

It doesn't need to follow comic characters 100% accurately. these comic characters will be written by screen writers and directors and they will have their own vision, interpretation and direction. comic fans may disagree with their interpretation and that is why they are films, not comics.

Phoenix version was an essentially an else world story, in that case changes good, hell encouraged even, and those changes actually benefited the character and the movie. In BOP case all these changes seem to barely benefit theses characters if at all, and this is apart of the DCEU which is supposed to be essentially just the comics into movies. Also different universe aren't just a DC thing. Look If these changes were good and actually did something for the characters i'd be all for it but right now i'm seeing none of that.

Hard core fans already read the script due to leaks. We’ve seen the on set photos & videos that also leaked. Watching interviews about the project also helps know more about it. Merchandise also gives a lot of spoilers away so it’s easy to put two and two together and make an opinion about wither you like the movie and it’s characters or not. Obviously the final verdict won’t be until the film is officially out. I for one like the idea for this movie but considering the source material which are the comic books there’s noticeable flaws.. This movie could have been executed better. My favorite character outside of Harley is Black Canary so far
