Even though the Celica is a fully-prepped, tube-chassis, fiberglass race car, it lost. I really like the fact that the Corolla maintains the original body style with only a fiberglass font end. I've never been a fanatic about anything, but I really admire this car, team and driver. El Humilde is my Hero.

not trying to argue, all i can say is both 2jz and honda engine are fun, its just they are on a different league..and just saying this cuz i have both engine full build one. i used to giving up on the honda, but hey honda are getting serious these day...if its all about whos faster yeah i agree 2jz i by far a way faster engine...but b series engine is more about fun when you lign the car up, but everytime im going with the jz i had this kinda feeling that i need to be serious cus the 2jz pride..

Bmxvtec I can count 10 tops Hondas in the 6s and like 100 nissans and toyotas that are. Love that ae86 though. Imnacrapyband is right, in this case the 86 is heavier and faster

Where did you get that figure? I don't think they publish those details in order to remain competitive. The original SR5 came in at 2150, it's anyone's guess with the added weight of the inline 6, trans and roll-cage, minus the fiberglass/tube front end. I've always wondered about all the specs for this and many other cars. Power, weight (wet and with driver), gears, tires, the works. But he's still fast, no denying that.

Mr Ol Skül they are from here, Puerto Rico, i was in Salinas Speedway, when they set the scale, with driver and the racing slics it came up to 2455 lb as a total, greetings from PR

Nice record, but it's a different class vehicle from this Corolla. The RX-8 is a full-tube-chassis car with a fiberglass body and lexan windows while the Corolla isn't, so I think the distinction must be made. Impressive nonetheless, just not the same.
