NEW YORK CLASSICAL PLAYERS
Founded in 2010, New York Classical Players (NYCP) is an ensemble dedicated to the highest standards of artistry, collaboration, and virtuosity. Fueled by the belief that access to musical excellence is an essential human right, NYCP presents all of its concerts free of charge. NYCP is comprised of dynamic young musicians who are launching their professional careers. Graduates of some of the world’s leading conservatories come together as NYCP to share free performances of familiar masterpieces, bold new commissions, and unexpected musical treasures with the public. Each season, thousands of NYCP concertgoers experience both the dynamic power of the orchestral repertoire and the versatile intimacy of chamber performance - without charge. NYCP is under the direction of Founder and Music Director Dongmin Kim, and a committed board of directors guides and supports the organization.

For a very long time, I've been hoping to find a performance which handles the sumptuous suspensions of the slow movement so 'deliciously' - and here it is. Coupled with superb interpretations of the outer movements, this is the recording for me! So often, the first movement is just that bit rushed, and perfunctory-sounding : here, the phrase groups have all been thought about, and 'punctuated' beautifully in performance, while still maintaining an 'Allegro'. Bravi!

Words fail - The rarefied atmosphere of Mozart's divertimenti leaves me intoxicated as though I had inhaled a canister of pure oxygen for an hour.

Great performance on this beautiful piece! One of the reasons why I like this version is that there’re four verses for the first movement (Allegro) which makes me feel more completed, while most recordings only have three verses for that movement, such as Karajan’s version.

I Heard this First as a I think 5 year old kid or sth around that on a CD Where Little Amadeus (that's a german TV Series about Mozart But for Kids) "showed" me Die kleine Nachtmusik and stuff like that.

Have only just discovered your orchestra, and i adore this performance, the allegro nice and punchy, ive listened to baroque for 60 years and I know the authenticity and colour produced, i also teach music so I'll be sharing with my colleagues and well done!

we're playing this in orchestra, and it's so fun to play! and also pretty easy me as a bassist Edit:actually keeping the correct tempo as a sort of "rhythm" section proved to be quite difficult

Is it just me or does the 2nd movement feel slow? I put it on 1,25 speed to make it sound closer to what I'm used to. Still just as beautiful

I quite agree with you. "Andante" in Italian means "a walking tempo". When I teach my pupils the speed of Andante, I tell them to imagine the speed of their own steps while waiting for the train at the metro station 😉

Yeah I agree, when I was 12 I played this in an orchestra and had trouble keeping the notes long because I thought it was so slow! Turned out great though, haha.
