Footage of 2022 New Flyer XD40 7932 operating on the B41 LIMITED from Downtown Brooklyn to Bergen Beach. Flatbush Depot along with several Brooklyn Division depots will be the main recipients of these new Xcelsiors. These buses have a full roof enclosure, whereas previous XD40 deliveries have only had them halfway. As a result, these XD40s look similar to the XDE40s, but these are not hybrid buses. Additionally, the back doors on the new XD40s slide outward instead of opening outward. Along with the 2021 XD40s & XDE40s, the 2022 XD40s will replace the remaining Orion VII NG Hybrids at these depots.
The B41 route operates daily with both local and limited-stop service, and predominantly on Flatbush Avenue. Buses serving Kings Plaza never get off Flatbush Avenue once they turn off Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Buses to Bergen Beach however do turn off Flatbush at Avenue N in Marine Park / Flatlands. This route operates through most of the borough in a general SE - NW orientation, serving a diverse array of neighborhoods along the way. Virtually all the areas served on the portion north of Prospect Park (Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Downtown Brooklyn) are upscale, wealthy areas. The neighborhoods of Flatbush, East Flatbush, and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens are mainly working-class neighborhoods, although that is changing with gentrification. The neighborhoods on its southern portion like Bergen Beach, Mill Basin, and Marine Park are mainly residential middle to upper middle class areas.
The B41 LIMITED operates between Downtown Brooklyn and either Bergen Beach at Veterans Avenue & East 70th Street or Kings Plaza (alternating buses) on weekdays. On weekends, all LTD service operates between Downtown Brooklyn and Kings Plaza. Local service alternates between Downtown Brooklyn and both of the outer terminals at all times of the day.
