Toni Erdmann director Maren Ade talks about her earliest experiments with filmmaking and takes a moment to appreciate the new issue of Film Comment magazine with her face on the cover in this interview from the 54th New York Film Festival.
NYFF Soft Focus is created by Jeff Reichert & Farihah Zaman. The interviews were shot on a 1986 Jupiter-9 85mm vintage Russian lens, known for its swirly bokeh, which gives the videos their distinctive look.
