The New Zealand High Commission in the Solomon Islands has moved into a new building, which will be officially opened later this month.
Education is one of the strong links between our two countries. Solomon Islanders have travelled to study in New Zealand universities, tertiary institutions, and primary and secondary schools for decades.
Solomon Pita received an NZ Scholarship to study his Master’s Degree at the University of Waikato in 2008.
Solomon is now Dean of the School of Technology and Maritime Studies at the Solomon Islands National University. He says his study in New Zealand helped him develop as a leader, meaning he could come back and contribute to the development of Solomon Islands.
