@rebjorn79 It’s not necessarily a war song, but the original lyrics were written from the perspective of a Russian army recruit, and it was first recorded by the Russian Red Army choir. So I’d classify that as being a war song, or at least potentially one.

Even if none of the men were conscripted, the farms would still fail, which they did. They killed everyone that actually knew how to effectively produce food. Which resulted in mass starvation. But lets not argue and enjoy the music.

The english translation is incorrect. You got the lyrics for the Origa version, not this one (the original one). For example, first part is actually: Field, my field, My wide field. The heroes ride over the field, Heroes of the red army I will see if I can find the rest of the lyrics, that's the only part I know for sure.

I might be an American but I am German Russian and I love playing all of these great songs on the piano. I might have served as an officer in the US Navy but I love Russia, my grandfather was a colonel in the Red Army and I can't hide who I am. I'm German and Russian. You can say I also have a unique perspective on Stalingrad. I love the Red Army Choir and these songs are great. I learned how to play the Red Army is the Strongest. It's a shame this has less than 8,000 likes. Thank you comrade Bogdanov

+Lupis @Lupis it is kind of complicated but I will explain. I was born and raised in America so that makes me an American first and foremost. My dad is from Russia so that makes me Russian American and my mom is from Germany so that makes me German American American. Therefore, I am German, Russian American. Technically, the only "real Americans" are Native Americans or Indians but in this country we hyphenate where our family is from. If you family happens to be from two different countries, then you hyphenate both nations. For example I have a friend who is 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Iranian. His mom was from Iran and his dad was from Italy. He calls himself an Italian, Iranian American. Oh and before people from Europe would not hyphenate, only people from Aaia, Africa, Latin America and ME would but now you see people from European backgrounds say, "I am English American or German American." I hope that answers your question. Now if you have both family members from one country say Mexico or Iran then you say, "I am a Mexican American," or "I am an Iranian American." To answer your question I AM BOTH A RUSSIAN AND GERMAN AMERICAN. That is why I say I am German, Russian American, in my case.

Like any country, America has some good and bad. The good is there is plenty of diversity but the bad is some people do not like diversity. Also, if you want my honest opinion, only Native Americans or Indians(not from the country of India) but Indians, deserve to be called Americans. Now when I was a kid, only minorities would say "I am a (fill in the blank) American." If your family was from Europe, then you would just say, "I am an American." That changed now, you see more people saying I am, "English, German, French or Russian American." I actually like that to tell you the truth because it shows where your family is realy from.
