April 1 connections was better than a lot of the previous ones where the blue and purple need hyperspecific knowledge of specific topics.

I really liked the emoji game! The horror movies were actually the first thing I picked up on, and I would have never in a million years thought the food items were connected to money (like, now i can see "dough" and "bacon", but definitely not cheese or lettuce, though in fairness I'm not a native speaker). I was really confused about how the "sheep" fit in with the rest of the homophobes though, so at least that mystery has now been solved, "ewe" never even occurred to me. (To be honest I'm not even sure I could tell you which animal "ewe" was, or what a female sheep is called, though it'd probably be in the running both ways.)

I love watching you find a correct solution and then reason your self out of that solution.

I watched “Black Sheep” for the first time while on vacation with my parents in the late 2000’s, I must have been about 15 at the time. We were staying at a friend’s house in Ireland, and pulled the DVD out of a bargain bin at a local shop, bringing it home without realizing what we had signed up for. Nearly two decades later we still talk about this movie, and we’ve even re-watched it a few times since. I hope you watch it, and enjoy all the camp silliness just as much as we did ❤

I don't think that many people where complaining about it being pictures. People were complaining because a lot of people who play on a PC didn't get all the emojis to work with. The most common problem was the teapot and saw were blank. I only got 6 black and white pictures, and the other 10 squares were blank.

The only part I didn't understand immediately was the homophones because I've never heard the word ewe. Everything else was pretty straightforward

I liked it. I object to calling a teapot a tea kettle, and it took me much longer than it should have to realise a sheep could be a ewe, but I really enjoyed it.

I did not do good on this puzzle because the emoji is "Teapot" but they were using it as "Tea" in one of their bullshit "these are how you could spell out letters" clues, which is a thing only NYT games players ever need to know.

It would have been a mistake to base it on the specific details of the pictures. The general concepts of the emojis are standardized, but since they're font-based the pictures look different on different devices.

I can’t agree that all emojis were just words of the thing, because I can only accept that the face emoji is one of two possible people: 1. Ghostface, 2. Kevin McCallister.

I've been fully fluent in English for YEARS and never in my whole life have I heard or read the word Ewe??? Mind you, I consume insane amounts of both educational videos and articles of all kinds, the fact I've never seen this word is mind-blowing.

I was angry because multiple emoji's didn't load even after refreshing the page, so I was guessing blind for multiple of the solutions.

They used the emoji set of your operating system, which means they couldnt depend on consistency of the emoji images

This is a neat idea for a Connections, but I wish they could have set up categories that weren't based on English sound-alikes (letters / rhymes), since the advantage of emoji is that they're language-agnostic.

Lamb is a divisive horror movie. I loved it a lot, but I seem to love most movies, especially weird ones! A good example is Six String Samurai, it’s one of my all time favorites!
