Love your videos guys. This one really caught my eye though. Did you accidentally reveal your “secret” sauce with this one, or did you actually have no idea you were standing in the middle of someone’s wild Sativa patch……… Lol Cheers!

I have Bur Oaks on my ground too here in NE, how do you select which trees to cut and which one's to leave? By size of trunk? I cut out the cedars down last winter from the hardwood area, which has already let in additional light and I'm planning to burn it all this spring. Great vid and love the pods

Size, quality, the site and placement/spacing of the trees are all things to consider when selecting which trees to remove. Sounds like you have a good start with removal of the cedars and planning to burn!!

My only question is does the savannah understory growth (cover) maintain its usefulness to deer during the winter? Would be interested to see a followup during the fall/winter. Love the video and content.

If the composition of the understory is managed for more shrubby cover then yes! It would depend on the management practices done following the removal of trees from the canopy and mid story. But certainly do-able! Check out the oak savanna part 2 video where we touch on just what you’re asking about!

Would this be doable to do it chunks like 1-2 acres?
@Whitetail_Properties

Yes we think you could replicate this in smaller chunks!

Your land is fine. No need to burn if you don't want to. Natural is always better than intervention.

Prescribed fire helps control non-native invasive species and helps promote the native seed bank to respond. It also helps control ticks and consume and debris that might be on the ground from TSI or timber harvest.

If u didn’t have trespassing before, you will now. I just have to ask why the heck u would post that? Don’t get me wrong, smoke it up, but either you are oblivious, or u need to lay off a little.

Haha it’s very common to find in that part of the world, also called ditch weed there, you can smoke it if you want but thd and cbd levels are quite different so you’d be better off smoking it for bug control. Hard to avoid seeing it in some areas

It's everywhere in the Midwest. You can usually find it along fence lines, edges of corn/soy fields and of course, the ditches along roads. Very hard to eradicate with mechanical or chemical control. Cannabis Ruderalis makes good rope, not good dope. Major headache weed...

I recall seeing spectacular stands of hemp along the Niobrara river. Smells nice, and it's great bird food.
