Thanks a lot for that one! It brought back a lot of memories from my time at Cal. During my graduate stint I lived on Telegraph Avenue, a hive of college activity. Some alums may take you to task for calling it "Cal State, Berkeley". When I went there in fifties and early sixties, the California State Colleges were just being established. The University System had been in existence for nearly a century. I'm surprised you didn't use the Bay Area Rapid Transit System (BART) to get around. I voted for it, when I was going to Cal, and use it now whenever I visit the area. It saves a lot of driving and walking. Keep up the good work. I discovered you in Living in Arizona and only recently subscribed to Island Hopper TV. I enjoy them both.

As a native of Berkeley who has lived in Berkeley and Oakland, I really enjoyed this. Made me homesick a little. Just a small nitpick; you said "Cal-State Berkeley". It is UC Berkeley. This matters because California has two different university systems; the CSU (Cal State) and the UC (University of California). Great video still.

Always enjoy your videos. You might want to include all the phenomenal hiking among Redwoods in the 4k acre Regional parks, Chabot Space Center (a Smithsonian venture) the Oakland Zoo, the Oakland museum and the Rockridge area for foodies.

Seeing this video brought back fond memories of the 4 years (1987-1991)I lived in Oakland when I was in the Army stationed at the Old Oakland Army Base on Maritime Street which no longer exists. My only not-so-fond memory is having been there (although thankfully, I survived!) when the Oct 17th, 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake struck the Bay Area. I was on the Hayward BART station at the time. Used to go to the NAS Alameda PX and Commissary and the South Shore Shopping Center to eat at the "Sizzler". Last time I was there was in 2003. Would love to go back there again some day but it's very difficult now that I am older and live far away in Kentucky. In the meantime , I am happy to travel vicariously through YT videos like this.

Nice review. Oakland, "The Town," has been getting a lot of bad press of late with violent crime. Good to see the city presented in a rather positive light in this video. By the way, the Warriors basketball team no longer play in Oakland, but in their new arena in San Francisco.

Thanks for the tour. I was searching for hotels to stay at in Oakland for an event I have to attend. I’m not from Oakland and all I found was bad reviews and basically don’t stay or don’t visit Oakland. Someone even said good luck renting a car and park at any hotel they will break in it at almost every hotel. Then someone said stay at the Marriott but they have roaches and dog poop. Geesh 😅 . I want to visit even if I wasn’t going for work just to see the culture. But I was afraid until I saw this tour. Thanks for sharing

No way Oakland. My mom and I after everybody who migrated after WWII from Jim Crow Louisiana ever born in Oakland. Oakland, need's too get seriously straightened out before visitors come for a visit it's been 10 years since I've seen the city of my Birth and yes if I was a billionaire I'd be spending on ways to make Oakland healthier and enjoyable but massive size social issues is taking place that makes my City of birth a little more dicey.

He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He's always serious about everything He said to do. He's just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏🔥 🕊️ Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it's fullness. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Jesus is worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said. Jesus said If you love me you will obey my commands. Let's just shorten it to Oakland, DO NOT VISIT. Don't visit San Francisco either. Stay away From HellLA. If you are visiting Sacramento, its probably for business. Anaheim, as long as you are within the park and convention center. San Diego is your best bet to visit California at the moment. It has California problems, but not as much as San Franshitco and HellLA

Your are taking your life in your hands there. Yikes! One of the ten most dangerous cities on earth. Best advice is to stay out. Such a sad situation.

When visiting Oakland, be sure to bring your flack jacket and helmet. Better yet, do not visit Oakland.

Well done, you can graduate from a great college, but you will come out brain washed by democratic teachers. My uncle told me this, as he dropped out of college, he is almost 75 and smarter than most college graduates.
