my father would always play this song in the car while we were driving. i used to call it “the longest song in the whole world”. i would say that line and he would play it. unfortunately, he died when i was nine years old. when he died my world was quite for a bit. but i’ve always found myself re-finding this song in different parts in my life when i need it most. i’m nineteen now, a whole decade later and i think he’s talking to me when i listen to it now. “someday you will find me, caught beneath the landslide in a champagne supernova in the sky” in some weird way, i think of this as some full circle moment, almost like he was preparing me , knowing i’d always have this song. i love you dad. thank you for always guiding me back to this song.

I learned this song earlier laat year. 28 years old and I truly feel late to the show. Don't make fun but this song literally moat days makes me cry. I don't know why. It's just so full of emotion (as am I) I can't help but open the floodgates when it comes to this track. I hope you and your family are being treated by well. And I have one question. "Where were you while we were getting high?" 😅 lol sorry, had to. This song absolutely BANGS. 🖤 Bless you and your family.

Uza Raysin MaDique Pedant much? When people get older, they tend to say "It was 20 years ago", even if it was just 18 or 19 years. Pretty much common speak or basic math, because in math, you do round up at certain instances. How about you do something meaningful, than wasting your time with such nonsense? Have a good life. P.S.: i was a pedant like you, been partly cured.

This song will always remind of me of my big brother who passed away in 2007. Day before my wedding we were all blasting this song, singing out loud to the lyrics.....It was his CD, I told him, "I gotta get this CD" he said take it lil brother, it's yours now....We'd give each other the shirt off our backs if one of us liked it. Just the way it was tween us both.Timeless song for Timeless memories. Rest easy bro.

Hey dude. I so much agree. About ten years ago I was having a bad day - family issues, self-analysis and all that crap. I got in my motor and drove 30 miles around the countryside with Oasis blaring on the CD. I pulled in when this song came on, I turned up the sound, sat back with my hands behind my head and just drowned in it. From that day this has been my favourite Oasis song. it is indeed of the highest order, and I hate picking favourites too because all their songs are top drawer. But from that moment, something about Champagne super will resonate with me forever. Different gravy.

1:25 that, right there. It’s gotta be the greatest intro’s to a song of all time, but because of what happened to them, they’re a forgotten band in many people’s heads that aren’t British. There was a good 10 years where I had completely forgotten about them and then hear Champagne Supernova on the radio. They were so huge for a short time and this is their exact peak, this song. I was 12 or 13 when this album was released so I still remember the influence they had… but I do also remember it was short lived, only a few years and then they had to go and say they’re either going to be big than the Beatles, or they already thought they had surpassed the Beatles lol. Even though atvm, you might be able to debate that, then I don’t think I’ve seen a bigger fall from sky, at such a fast pace in my entire life of music lol. It’s like fans everywhere were disgusted and offended that they could’ve ever held a candle to the Beatles. I’ll say at the pace they were going, they could’ve possibly had a good run at it. But that’s just like what happened with the Beatles and when John said they were bigger than Jesus, yet we all forgave him after that because of what would happen to him later in life. But the gen public didn’t forgive Oasis for their comment. But I think enough time has passed now and people have actually forgotten about and swept it under the rug by now because let’s be honest they had one of the highest selling albums of all time. 22 million copies sold. To give you a comparison to another high selling album a few years before that was Metallica’s Black album. That has sold 16 1/2 million copies atm. So that’s how big that album was; blows the Black album outta the water. Idk why I ranted so hardcore just now, lol, but whatever.

Every time I here it I'm a teenager in the 90s running around South Chicago with my friends... One day we all hung out with all our friends at the same time, for the last time, and we never even knew it... This song brings those times back. Music is the flux capacitor

Same here, 10 year old boy on a Chorley council estate, boiling hot summer playing football with mates, place was a shithole but everyone seemed happy and full of life. Almost brings a tear to me when i first here the intro, utter happiness and nostalgia but sadness that it seemed so long ago and such a different time, the words at the back off the inlet perfectly sum up my feeling of that time. Magical song

This was my first exposure to songs that were longer than five minutes. At first, I didn't think that songs longer than five minutes could be good, but then I listened to this track, the last song on What's The Story, Morning Glory and realized that it was totally possible to have long songs that are absolute bangers.

In the album, the wave crash starts at the end of Morning Glory. That track was a polar opposite of Champagne Supernova, high energetic and aggressive. The wave sounds really help mesh them together and put you in the right mood for the much calmer masterpiece that is this song.

This song will always be important to me because when I got out of the military in 2005 after 9/11 I hung out with a group of friends that truly lived a time from social obligations. We had a few summer parties where this song rang true. It was before the responsibilities of turning 30 and beyond brought. I'm still single but many of them moved on to families and relationships but this song makes me remember those awesome moments when nothing else mattered and life was happy in the moment. I would give anything to relive that.

The first album my sister and I bought, it changed our lives. My dad took us to see them live in the 1998 Tour in Mexico City (we lived 5 hour's drive); I was 14, and my sister 15. It was such a huge deal back then. We saw Liam chilling next to the stage; we were maybe 5 meters away. My heart was pounding when they came on stage, and we sang our hearts out. My dad disappeared, probably so we could enjoy it. Thanks to music, my sister and I shared a strong bond created over those years. Forever memories.
