Yeah, Oasis' songs are full with undecisive words. (Maybe, Probably etc) and for the "melodies that seem simple but get stuck in your head easily" Its Oasis' main composition/recipe for every song they make. if you play the guitar, you will notice most of theyre song's made out of basic chords. And by i mean basic, i LITERALLY mean basic. Wonderwall, for example. the chorus is literally made out of 3 chords. C Em and G. Sooo yeah, thats pretty much it. lol

Nearly 30 years since this masterpiece was released, and in my opinion never got the respect that it should have, this is not only one of the most iconic songs of the 90's, this is one of the best of all time in it's genre.

Just chose this song for my dad's funeral. He was only 57 and loved Oasis. I have memories of me him and my brother singing this together. Such a beautiful song. RIP dad xx Update: thank you for all your kind messages. Its nearly a year on and the pain is still raw. 💔 but I'm pregnant with my first child, a baby girl and my due date is on my dad's birthday in December. He's sent me a little angel. It's bittersweet as he won't get to watch her grow but I know he will be there in spirit. Xx

Fun Fact: Noel’s guitar in this video was given to him when Oasis was just starting out by Johnny Marr (from The Smiths) who got it from Pete Townsend. Noel ended up smashing it on some guy.

The way he sings with such optimism at the beginning, and at the end his voice has changed in realisation that we won't in fact, live forever. Then Noel hits it with the beautiful but damning final guitar piece. I know what you mean it's a masterpiece.

I remember i used to sing this song to my mum during the summer of the year she got ill. Unfortunately because of her disease she couldn’t speak anymore, among many other things… it’s funny because the lyrics say “maybe i don’t really wanna know how your garden grows” and we have a garden that my mum used to take care of, sometimes i helped her in doing it. About a year after she passed away i randomly saw a video on youtube, “Liam Gallagher vs. cute kids” where Liam said that this is a nice song to sing for his mother… Mum i really wish you and I could live forever, like the lyrics say. I will always love you and I miss you a lot. Rest in peace, i’m sure one day i’ll see you again e we will really live again, together and forever.

When you stick on a good set of headphones and really listen to all the layered guitars in this track, among everything else, the genius lyrics, one of the best solo's ever recorded, simple but fat bassline, boneheads rhythm parts holding the mix where Noel's lead parts come in, the drum sound, then Liam's perfect vocal take(s). This song's up there with the absolute best ever written, without any shadow of a doubt.
