The second of two nights in Bolton at the Reebok Stadium. These two Bolton nights seem to go under the radar for most fans, obviously down to the two Wembley nights after these being the stand-out gigs from the U.K shows. Even after the rowdy first night, this gig isn’t squeaky clean from issues either. Much like the first night, there’s the usual crowd control problems. Step Out is done in one take tonight thankfully, but the end of Don’t Look Back in Anger is a bit strange (Noel doesn’t repeat the final “don’t look back in anger, don’t look back in anger” part after the audience, instead going straight to “I heard you say”, without any accompaniment, so it sounds super awkward). There is also a problem with the lighting, as Liam gets pissed off with a big spotlight shining on him during Champagne Supernova. Despite all these issues, this night probably does have the higher highs of the two nights. Personally I think this night is slightly stronger from Liam, but the differences between both aren’t night and day. It does also seem to be that these Bolton shows were at least multi-tracked, as small bits of footage does exist from the other U.K gigs around this time (Liam even mentions that the “cameraman’s loving it” at the beginning of Who Feels Love). A decent gig.
