Following their show in Seattle, the band’s show in Vancouver is one of the most popular Oasis bootlegs and one of the most popular bootlegged live recordings of the 1990’s and as such has gained a massive reputation as being one of the best shows Oasis pulled off. I have to agree, this is a great show on the Definitely Maybe Tour as everyone is in their stride and the audience is totally up for it. Though the soundboard source the show is captured on isn’t complete (it misses out I Am The Walrus and surely some stage banter) the setlist has been slightly modified since the Seattle show but the main thing to take away from it is that It’s Good To Be Free and Bring It On Down have been moved later to be later in the set, as has Slide Away. In a rare occcurence, Cigarettes & Alcohol is not played on the set and so to replace it’s spot, Listen Up is brought back into the set after being played at several shows in August, being played prior to Shakermaker. It is arguably what the show is best known for, as the rendition played here is commonly seen as the best version of the song (I’m still not sure whether I agree or not, as every DM version has some rough moment from Liam so it’s hard to pick an objective favourite.) Liam sounds great for the time period despite having a sore throat which makes him sound quite growly, and the rest of the band too play well delivering energetic versions of Rock N’ Roll Star and Supersonic. It’s a classic show and while I think there are better shows on the tour this is still a great listen.

I remember seeing arguments on the video of Listen Up from this gig of people arguing whether it was really Liam or not, because his voice just sounds so different. The entire gig sounds amazing due to this.

@@MrXenon1994 Wow that’s interesting. I’ve seen plenty of people wonder whether or not it’s him at the Glasgow Tramshed gig in 1994. After querying about it I think they added some effect to his mic as when he says “hello everybody!” at the beginning he sounds completely normal. If not, he may have caught a cold!

Biblical gig from them all, from Liams snarl vocals to the immense drumming of Tony. Their best drummer by far.. raw natural uncomplicated and no unnecessary fills that White brought in. This is just fucking fantastic from their best era.

Yeah Married With Children was played a lot from late 1994 until the end of the Definitely Maybe Tour. I just haven’t gone round to those shows yet as I was uploading it chronologically!

Possibly the best non ‘event’ performance along with Cardiff 96 and the best of the Definitely Maybe era. For me all time best versions of Columbia and Bring It On Down.

As a Vancouverite, love this gig! Unfortunately was before my time. Their show here at the Pacific Colosseum in ‘96 and then again during the BHN tour were attended by a former teacher of mine, she said they were easily the two best shows she’s ever been to (she regularly went to see bands live). Really hoping someone manages to unearth audio of those shows in full, would be awesome to hear

I was at both shows. Commodore - unreal! Pacific Coliseum show they played 3 songs. Someone throw a shoe at Liam’s head and they left the stage and that was it. So funny.

I’ve now come to terms with the fact that I think Cigarettes & Alcohol was probably played here just not captured on the soundboard (same goes for Walrus), but considering the setlist experimentation at the beginning of the year I wouldn’t put it past the band to not include it here!

Definitely. For me, it is one of the few songs that worked wherever the band put in the 90’s. I always enjoyed each placement of it.

I'm been a fan of oasis so long I sometimes forget how fucking good they where live around this time. Raw, aggressive, no thrills Rock n roll. Liam was effortlessly brilliant. Great stuff thank you 👍

Thanks for posting! I just sent the link to my buddies that were there with me! A little history lesson about the Commodore Ballroom. This show was on the original dance floor that was hardwood over top of hay. The floor used to bounce like a trampoline. Unfortunately they replaced the floor in the late 90’s. It doesn’t bounce anymore;(.

For me this is still the best formation. The og. Tony drumming and liam voice for me is what make the sound of definitely maybe what it is. At that time they have that punk attitude that after the tony departure they lost and never regain. Sure with alan white they gain a more technic drumming but, apart for some song, it lacks the power. The most evident one for me is supersonic. The original is very straight forward, so simple and so effective drums, even better live when is more fast. With alan that particular aggressive drum got lost and it became too jazzy.best year voice for liam for me is 95 and 96 because he have some rasp but he also still have the great voice of the beginning, hard to say what gig is my favorite but this one is one of the great. Always love live by the sea and glastonbury 95.knebworth is awesome but i always think that even if they became absurdly great in that moment the punky style of the start it's lost.no hate for alan but even if is great he simply have another style that can't fit the group in the same way that they have with tony, too underrated drummer.too bad that the more the year pass the more the group slow doen too much too many tracks. That fact surely doesn'help liam. Also many songs lost power. Supersoni and live forever became too slow and lost energy and complicate the situation for liam in my opinion, because if he already struggle with his voice, imagine what kind of struggle he had to front with a slowed rythm, if he have to mantein a note for a 2 seconds and the seconds become 5 he surely can't, even more with his disease.how can they can think about it when they alreafy knoelw? Anyway, thank you for all the great upload. Love the band and still think that 95 96 is the best oasis.

It’s amazing that Oasis have some amazing songs and even amazing b sides but they also had a lot of mediocre songs. Hearing Liam’s prime voice singing mediocre songs really upsets me 😂
