Man, I miss OB so much. I was stationed in SD from 2001-2005 and this place was my “get away” when I wasn’t on the ship. I brought my wife there for her first plane ride and her first REAL trip outside of the southeast. She was seriously depressed about having to come back to Georgia.

I wonder how donut shops make their glaze. I’ve tried making donut glaze at home whatever I have donuts, and I could never get it right. I wonder what I’m doing wrong. I’ve even tried taking butter, milk, powdered sugar and adding some cinnamon to it as well as vanilla extract. Then heating it.
@kiwiparrotlet37865 жыл бұрын
Rick Hodgkins I worked at the donut shop before , they got their glaze icing mix powder from BakeMark , I know they just added warm or little hot to the glaze icing powder and mix it in the mixer for 15 minutes,add wherever artificial flavor liquor you like vanilla, buttermilk , orange etc. DONT HEAT IT, will be too watery . Try warm milk instead that will be more delicious , I would use 2-3 tablespoons to 2 cup power sugar with drops of vanilla

This is how you succeed in any business with a dedicated staff. The American Dream is not lost. We just need to encourage more Americans to jump in. When you start the business you push it along; after a while, with customers' demands and growth, the business pushes you. What's wrong with that?

Curious. How is it that, in California anyway, doughnut shops are owned/operated by Orientals? I m not talking only a few, I mean virtually all! Nothing negative nor discriminatory from me, just genuinely interested. Anything on this?
@geffreybolster37805 жыл бұрын
I love doughnuts and as I travel around, I f i n d them. In Ukiah CA there s a doughnut place near the little airport, and the doughnuts couldn t be of a higher, traditional quality. The shop is run by Orientals.

Thanks for responding when you could Cindy. I thought that the glaze was always made from scratch. In fact, I know of one donut shop down in San Diego California, that where all of their glazes are made from scratch. Besides, that I don’t think bake Mark will sell anything to the general public.
