After watching this and practicing a bunch I think I've come to the conclusion that I have neither the flexibility or the knack to make this look fluid. It's a bummer, because this looks so cool when done right.

Try pulling your arm forward by the time you’re at the main part he focused on when it’s behind you. You also wanna be trying to complete the circle. Keep practicing it slowly.

This took me a bit to get the hang of but the different angles made this so much easier to get the hang of it, I spent about an hour going through it and I can do it pretty fluently but not with the speed you had going

Very helpful. I am not big on lightsabers, but I am making an Ani Vs. Obi video game on scratch, and I wanted to animate this as an attack/defense/whatever-the-heck-you-wanna-call-it. It worked.

I broke my wrist years ago and I literally can't force my wrist to do the back spin bit. I just keep hitting my armpit on the transition forward. As fluid as you make it look it's such an unnatural sword movement my brain can't get it right.

It's funny, when you do it slowly, it looks completely different than when you do it quickly. When slow, the blade traces a completely different path than when you do it quickly. Is there a missing step? Because I for one cannot get this to look anything like what you're doing.
