This video is AMAZING - BUT I'M SORRY I COULD NOT HELP LAUGHING WHEN I RECOGNIZED THE MERLIN AUDIO AT THE BEGINNING. IT'S ACCURATE THOUGH. THEY'RE LITERALLY TWO HALVES OF ONE WHOLE, like it was said in the ROTS novelization of course AND a George Lucas quote in Star Wars and The Hero's Journey literally talked about how he created Ben to be the light half of Vader

ooooowwwwww. I love how you've put all those quotes from the novelization. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. The Kenobi show wasn't perfect, but it hit the emotional beats really well (and by that I mean it had me crying for Obi-Wan constantly) and you've blended it perfectly with Clone Wars and the prequels and the novelization and the music! It's really hard to pick, but these two might just make my nomination for Most Tragic Relationship in Star Wars. It's way worse than Anakin and Padme (sorry not sorry) and I think worse even than Anakin and Ahsoka, because Ahsoka didn't really make a lot of mistakes concerning Anakin. Their relationship eroded for reasons more or less out of her control--the result of Palpatine's manipulation and Anakin's decisions as Vader. But Obi-Wan made a lot of decisions, meaning well, that contributed to Anakin's loss of trust in him and the Jedi Order in general. And the fact that Obi-Wan always, always meant well somehow makes it even worse. That final fight in ROTS hurts after just the prequels but of course Clone Wars makes it a better story--and a worse punch in the gut. To take just one example from Clone Wars that makes their relationship hurt more: the arc where the Council fakes Obi-Wan's death--and they do it in front of Anakin because his reaction (in other words, his outburst of emotional pain that the Council is always telling him not to have) would sell the assassin on Obi-Wan's death. Anakin goes about as dark side as we've up to that point in the show during the arc, hunting down Obi-Wan's "killer"--nearly killing the disguised Obi-Wan in revenge. But rather than pure joy at his discovery that Obi-Wan his alive, Anakin gets angry, because he realizes that Obi-Wan went along with it, with the Council, and put Anakin through all that pain and darkness for a mission objective. I think that as far as the show in concerned, it's where you start to see cracks in their trust in each other. But Obi-Wan as usual struggles to apologize for the Council's actions and to take responsibility for his own, because he was just doing his duty as a Jedi. And he was. But he also hurt Anakin and left a lot of space open for Palpatine to pound a wedge further into Anakin's heart, feeding Anakin's distrust and disillusionment with Obi-Wan and the Council both. Anyway that was a long ramble--point is, love the video.
