Maverick Aoko, previously a journalist with the Standard Group, has become a prominent Kenyan figure on social media, particularly Twitter. Known for her outspoken and often controversial takes on politics and social issues, she's a vocal supporter of the Kenya Kwanza political faction. Aoko's bold opinions have sparked online feuds and legal battles with prominent figures. While some appreciate her directness, others find her abrasive. In September 2023, she announced a temporary break from politics and Nairobi's drama to "breathe fresh air." In this new Episode of Obinna show live, she joins Oga Obinna to talk about her dark secrets, and past lives since she took a break from social media.

This lady, as much as she speaks her mind, she has a big heart. I worked with her at some point when we were doing missions with Hope Citadel or missioners of hope, that I didn't know I was working with a big name. I love her, I just love Aoko.

It should not be a crime. It just shows you her love and grasp of the language. There is this Luo guy called Ochieng (used to write for Nation, I think his column was titled the 5th columnist), he used to write using some complex English words. It just shows his love for the queen's language. May he continue resting in peace
