To be fair, the darts obviously don’t do much damage for some reason, so it’s more consistent to take HE mostly except when fighting at extreme range or against targets that aren’t easy to penetrate with HE.

And mobility, at the end of the day those are the only things that matter

Spoiler: there simply were(2 years back) 7 groups of different APFSDS based on bore's diameter. That's it. No further modelling. And that thing has damage profile of a typical 125 killer of a single crew member.

@@MaxTheLegend_YT if you watched the video the round clearly doesnt go through everything, and if -somehow- one gets volumetric'd to hell and back or has a 'skill issue' it wont mean certain death during the 10 sec reload. I will note the HE looks far better than the apfsds.

Yes, it is called "Blow out ammorack", usually at the back of the turret is an isolated place, where in average 16 shells are stored, and if you penetrate that part, you blow that amount of ammo, that is stored there, the crew will not get hurt, and then you left with 1 shell, if the gun is loaded. If that ammorack gets hit while you are reloading then the tank blow up. Thats because in real life, there is a little window between the loader and the blowout ammmorack, and when the tank shots, the loader opens that window to take out the next ammo, so while the loader is reloading, and that window is open, the crew is in contact with that ammo storage. In the game this logic is existing, so it usually works like this. It's important, that if you bring full ammo load into the battle, only a few amount of shells will be stored in that spec ammorack, the rest of the shells are placed next to the driver, or under the turret, and if any of these shells get hit, the tank blows up. The USA, some german MBT's and maybe some japanese tanks use this type of ammorack, if I'm not wrong.

You fail to mention the very good armor, good mobility, and the ability to one shot anything you face with just HE quite easily. And none of those leopards can actually pen this thing front on, save for the weak spots. Just as a note, the only things that can pen 292s UFP is as follows: The M1A1s M829A1, the Merkava mk3s (all variants), any russian tank with 3bm60 (which there isn’t many in its bracket, and it is Russian itself), the Chinese ZTZ-99 ll/lll and MBT2000 (if you face them), or most ATGMs (and let’s be honest, those aren’t common at these BRs). And all of those tanks are *if* you get either a full or mostly full uptier. If you don’t, you’re practically immune to every dart coming towards you, save for another 292. Also, exclusivity should not be a factor in the balancing of a game, period.
