Thanks for letting me know! I didn't know about MYELT. I just looked it up and it's from National Geographic, a company I respect. It looks like a good platform.

Hello madam, The video is very very helpful. Previously I have some confusion in identifying difference between subject and object relative clauses but after the video I can clearly identify the relative clauses and all the other videos ( passives, Tenses, causative , gerunds and infinitives, Tenses....) in Your channel are really helpful to improve my grammar skills. Thank you so much madam.

Thank you very much! I haven't gotten many comments, and not a lot of views. That's why I haven't been making videos in a while. If you should have a need for something that I haven't covered, let me know and I'll add another video. My goal is to help anyone with English who needs it. Have a great day!

Thank you madam. 😊 I am thankful because of your videos which were really helpful. I have some difficulty in Learning nominal clauses. Especially forming and using the Wh-interrogative clauses and nominal relative clauses. If possible please make video on those clauses. Thank you madam.

I have a question can I use who and whom interchangeably in object relative clause ? Do they indicate the same thing ?
@alexseslworld3 жыл бұрын
The meanings are similar, but the use isn't. "Who" is a subjective pronoun, which means it is used as the subject of sentences or clauses. Ex: Who is she? "Who" is the subject of this sentence. - Mr. Brown is who I called. Here, "who I called" is a relative clause and "who" is the subject of that clause. "Whom" is an objective pronoun, which means it can be used only as the object of a verb or a preposition. Ex: This is my sister whom you met last night. - In this sentence, "whom" is the object of the verb (or direct object) - About whom are you speaking? - Here it's the object of the preposition "about". I should also mention, if you didn't know this already, "whom" is used by most people in very formal language. Most of us don't use the word at all in spoken English. I do on occasion, but I'm an English teacher. Still, I skip it sometimes too. If you need more of an explanation, here's a link to Miriam Webster's explanation: www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/who-vs-whom-grammar-usage I hope that helps!

Which adjective clause in placed in the right place ? John is a player who plays well. John who plays well is a player. Which one is correct? I have studied that adjective clause is used after noun. Here both are nouns John and player.
@alexseslworld2 жыл бұрын
The first sentence is correct. The second one could be correct if you put commas before and after the adjective clause. (John, who plays well, is a player.) In the first sentence, "player" is being modified. Which player? The one who plays well. In the second one, "John" is being modified. Who plays well? John does. Since "John" is the same as the "player", it doesn't make much difference to the meaning of the sentence if you use one over the other. Does that explain it clearly enough? If not, feel free to ask again. If you want to be sure I can respond to you, you're welcome to email me at alxseslworld@gmail.com. I don't do anything with anyone's email address. It's just a way to communicate without doing so here. I sometimes can't access comments from here, so I can't respond. That's why I created the email just for English learners here.

It's a shame that you, as an excellent English teacher with experience, are leaving this field. You have a charming charisma and a great style in delivering information. Moreover, you possess excellent communication skills.

Thank you very much! I loved teaching, but we all must retire at some point. I'm just glad I can still interact with people in need of English online.

question: in the subject clause, can I use comma instead of relative pronoun? such as: the man, my neighbour, has a dog. does it make sense? Thank you!
@alexseslworld7 ай бұрын
Sorry, I don’t understand your question, but the sentence you wrote is correct with the exception that you have to capitalize the first word of the sentence. You always have to capitalize the first word of any sentence in English. So, yes, it makes sense. But back to your question, a comma and a relative pronoun are not interchangeable. They serve different purposes.
