Thanks for the explanation from FCP, I am watching it with great interest. I have a question whether this is possible with FCP. During sports competitions, advertising is often projected onto a sports field. When you turn the camera, the advertisement stays in place. Is this possible with tracker? I use a drone to fly over a field and would like to project a logo onto the field. That works, but in the flying movement, the logo remains in the same place on the screen and I would like it to remain in the same place on the field.

Pretty great trick! I might be a bit slow but it took me a while to notice the Colour Board is in the Effects Browser, ie. if you drag it onto someone's face, it will become a trackable adjustment shape. Suddenly everything is getting tracked. (For some time, I thought I could track everything but Colour. I just accepted it😹)

I see you have a piano in your background. I'm doing a drop shot of my piano and it isn't properly aligned horizontally in the shot. Can you show how to do correct in FCPX masking just the keyboard so I can align it with another computer image of a keyboard? I've been looking how to do this all over the place. I definitely could do that! But the easier way is to just drag a gaussian blur or pixelate filter directly onto a person in the scene, and FCP will automatically detect it's a face! Then you can just click analyze and it will do the rest. Much easier than applying that effect with the method described in this video.

This might be caused by the draw mask effect not being selected in your video inspector! But I’ve also had a bug where they disappear, and I had to reset fcp to get them back. Hope that helps!

Heyy bro I have a FCPX question 😂 When people ask me the rush, Example, I import 10 rush in one timeline, I edit color with adjustement layer and other things. Is it possible to export these 10 rush in one time in 10 seperate files ? At the moment I Take "R" tools for "selection" and I export one per one to have 10 edited rush .. But Lost a lot of time .. Thanks !!

If I understand what you're asking, the answer is yes, but you'll need to install Command Post to make this work in FCP.

I love your videos, but this is the first one I do not understand. I have no idea what the problem is that you were solving. It made no sense to me. Why did you need to draw a weird shape around the person? What did this solve? Really confusing. Might be me, but you're usually very clear with real-world examples and this one I just don't get!

I appreciate the honest feedback! looking back, I definitely could have had better examples. I think this video makes more sense to someone who has run into this exact problem. The best use case would be to actually rotoscope an object in a scene like a car passing by. You could easily use this as a transition with a car passing. Or if you needed to apply a specific effect to a complex object in a scene, this would track that effect to the more complicated object. In Final Cut Pro, it limits you to only circles and squares for tracking masks, and so this just opens the possibilities up for much more complex shapes. Hope that makes sense!
