In this first lecture Bjorn discusses the developmental stages of a Bonsai, and how our pruning techniques should be adapted accordingly. Understanding these nuances, and setting clear goals will speed up the progress. As an example, when our goal is to thicken a trunk we choose to prune little - whereas when our goal is to grow a fine ramification regular pruning is very important. Bjorn also discusses the tools needed to prune and style Bonsai. This video is a free preview lecture from our Bonsai Intermediate Course 2.
