OBLIVION (Astor Piazzolla).
Here is my personal bandoneon solo interpretation of this magnificent tune - composed by the great Argentinean master - which has become an evergreen across different genres.

Maravillosa interpretación de un clásico del maestro Piazzolla , al que tuve el gusto de conocerlo personalmente y los años que luchó para que sus obras maestras sean reconocidas por el mundo y empezando por los propios argentinos . Hoy está considerado entre los mejores músicos del siglo 20 . Gracias de corazón maestro. Emocionante .

C'è poco da perdersi in disquisizioni musicali, tanto più al cospetto di un musicista sopraffino e portentoso..qui si tratta di saper toccare l'anima delle persone, quand'anche intorpidite da questi tempi assai cupi..il brano è tra i miei preferiti in assoluto e il tuo genio ha saputo rivisitarlo con audacia e rispetto..Chapeau!

Ti ringrazio molto, soprattutto per aver saputo cogliere l’essenza ultima e fondamentale dell’energia contenuta nel messaggio musicale, rivolto essenzialmente - come dici tu - a toccare l’anima delle persone. Francamente, di questi tempi poi, non conosco miglior linguaggio di quello della musica, che unisce i popoli e ci accomuna tutti nell’appartenenza al genere umano. Dear Yanni liu, thank you so much for your kind comment, very much appreciated. Usually, I don’t write my arrangements, since they contain an element of improvisation, that - if written - would render the mysic less spontaneous, less direct and less authentic, in my view. I own a Bandoneon. I tried to learn it and gave up, I’m playing the button accordion for now, which has been great. Maybe in the future I will try it again. To me there there is nothing more beautiful sounding than the Bandoneon

Hello, dear 불타는반도네온. Many thanks for your enthusiastic and positive feedback regarding my interpretation of "Oblivion". I am so glad to hear that my playing has got such a wonderful response even from a far! However, as I keep repeating to anyone who asks me the same question, I don't write down all my arrangements, also because most of it is improvised. In fact, I do encourage anyone who likes this type of approach to the bandoneon to start investigating more on listening and practicing ear-training, transcriptions and search of melodies and notes without the help of music scores. This practice will increase enormously your ability to detect and recognise chords, patterns, phrases, harmonic sequences etc. Furthermore, as you probably know if you follow my activity, I have been dedicating much energy and resources to the study of this wonderful instrument finding though my own path, so to speak, with the intention of defining my own personal style. This research has led me to record and publish several solo bandoneon albums, in the Bandoneon Solo series: 4 volumes, so far. 2 of them are dedicated to the interpretation of famous jazz standard tunes, while the other 2 albums are with my own compositions and improvisations. Now, one in particular (the Bandoneon Solo Vol. II "ORIGINALS") was published together with a music book with all the tunes written out for anyone to read and interpret.
