I did too. Then I got to see and ride in one that belonged to one of the Firestone kids at Parsons College in 1966. That thing was a beast. It is the sexiest car ever made. Better the any Shelby Cobra, in my opinion. Only 11 of the original s were made.

Great work. The Cheetha is a very interesting machine. I have the opportunity to follow a complete restoration and race preparation on one of these cars. Thing is, it's so small that you actually sit on the rear axel and more or less have the engine in your knees and the fueltank as a backpack. The gear box and rear axel are connected direct without any prop shaft. It has absolute no impact safety of any kind, more than the rollbar. It is a murderous fast machine, with prox 500hp and 750Kg you will feel the G-force. With a wheelbase at 90"/228cm it can be a quite snappy handling. All the best.

0:15 Gullwing doors on sports cars are provided by the manufacturer to encourage drivers to be careful when driving on curves, because if you roll the car onto it's top, you cannot free yourself until the car is put back on it's wheels again, which may be for hours or even days.
