What talent! Aria is probably one of the best heavy metal albums ever recorded. The atmosphere on that record is truly astonishing.

I remember being in kind of a metal lull.. then I discovered that album.. I was a cold winter day walking to the bus stop, slightly high.. first track had me cautiously optimistic.. then Autumnal Pyre came on and I was changed

In truth the metal side is okay, but the harp tracks are what I adore! If only they did an harp only album!

IMO the talent is Vicente La Camera Marino, on harp.

I'd consider these songs to be Neofolk. Same with Winterfylleth's acoustic songs :)

As far as I know, some of these are actual compositions of the middle ages, like Ay Que por Muy Gran Fremosura (Cantigas de Santa María by Alfonso X of Castile )... so the "neofolk" thing may need some rethinking :)

Sidhe is a variation of Stella splendens, a piece that was logged in the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat . It wouldn't surprise me if most of these were renditions of music from the middle ages.
