I'm SO excited about this book clutch purse inspired by booktok (on tiktok)! My first try at an epoxy resin book clutch purse had a few issues, so I've fixed them in this 2nd attempt. This video tutorial walks you through the process (in conjuction with the first video - you'll want to watch both). The fixes were minor but really were significant - the results are next level!

Love this! I just made my first resin purse and I made it for a college gameday so I had to make it more clear/see thru. But I prefer to make them not being able to see thru them. Now I want to load up on allllll kinds of resin purses!!! So do more and give me more ideas! lol!

It turned out wonderful! If I could possibly get all of my ‘need to haves’😆 in that size of purse, I’d definitely make one. I wouldn’t want a clear purse either. But, I do think a stained glass one would be very cool. Great project!

The sides do not come with the kit - i made them myself with vinyl - but any fabric could work

Yayyy! So glad that the clear varnish worked. I also later thought about using clear vinyl sticker sheet. The book purses turned out beautifully❤

For these ones I didn't, I downloaded them from online to use as demonstration. They are one-offs that I made for these videos. I created a template for my members with a royalty-free design that they were able to download and use for their purses. 😊 If you have your own unique designs, I'm sure they would look fabulous!💕

Hello, I want to make a bag like this for a design project of mine. However I want to redesign the book cover on paper and then use it. So is it possible for me to laminate it instead of using book contact paper/film? Or is it still necessary even after I've laminated my book cover design?

Why do you need to use the contact book cover? Why not just use your cover paper then varnish and resin it?

I mentioned this in the video - that I've had hit and miss success with varnish alone - so adding the contact paper gives me a better chance at zero leaks (and with the amount of effort to make these, I want to ensure I don't have to redo them). But if you feel confident with varnish alone, then it's definitely a possibility to skip the extra step! 😊
