I've done that, where I just throw the stuff away I don't like or use. Then Michele comes and digs it out of the trash saying she is going to give it away. Then I go take it to the curb a few days later knowing that's not going to happen.

Yes, coated car really is not all that different than a waxed or sealed car other than needing polish to remove it.

Here is the deal. Coating removal is theoretically only done with a compound or heavier polish. But...SiO2 or TiO2 are delivered in a resin. That resin wears down over time and needs to be replenished. That's what most of these topping products do. They help keep or possibly rebuild the layer of resin delivered SiO2. Using something like CG Citrus Red or claying/Autoscrubbing the coated surface will remove some it, but generally not enough to remove anywhere near all of it. This is where making a decision on why you are doing this becomes important. Are you simply scheduling this because you feel the need, or is the surface really contaminated heavily to the point of need to do this? If it needs to be done, your intent would be to decontaminate the surface of the coating to prep for removal during polishing. The big issue with the coating is not knowing when it is actually removed. You just start grinding away and hoping you get back to the paint at some point. Usually they come off rather easily with polish, but it's not an exact science. To answer your question, yes, both the clay and Autoscrub will mar the coating. But...you'd only be doing this if you were going to polish, remove the coating, correct the paint, reapply a new coating anyway.

Yes, it was the roll center adjuster. They were flipped 180 degrees, which is very easy to do. I put new lower control arms in, flipped the RCAs, and we had tons of room.

I've found that using 2 in one products, although more efficient, are not as effective. You end up with 2 diluted products.
