OCD has the power to make you doubt virtually anything, including reality. OCD can make people question the reality of the people or environment around them. OCD can make you question your own existence or identity.
These intrusive thoughts can make you feel ungrounded and overwhelmed.
In this week’s KZfaq video I’m discussing the many common ways Existential OCD themes can make you doubt your reality and how to override and outsmart OCD.

I feel so sorry for myself, that I felt this for years as a kid when I had mild ocd before age 12. Then I also went down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories and what not. Now I realised that reality feels so natural and connected to me as at times OCD leaves me.

Society itself is always questioning and judging citizens - it certainly doe not help having media paranoia run rampant.

This happened at the worst time for me, it was a lead up to my roommate leaving for 3 weeks when I was just starting my Christmas holidays. It’s almost up now and I feel like this has grown a lot - but this has been very helpful. I’ve been journaling about it. No matter how real nothing feels, it’s all bullshit. And me googling this and even continuing to find videos on the subject is only causing it to grow. I’m going back to work in 2 days and my roommates coming back in 4. Whilst this probably won’t “magically fix” everything, at least I’ll be back in a routine and can focus on erp ideas; rather than just sitting home alone ruminating on all this bullshit. It’s happened in the past around 2019 after a bad anxiety period, but I’ll push through this again. Thankyou!

It is ALL OCD, it is not you (don’t take it as reassurance) but as OCD leaves you, this will leave you too.. I’m waiting for that day for myself

@@MegaSaanch thankyou ❤️ mid way thru last year this all started with harmocd, but that was easy to deal with (in the end) because I knew it what is was so it didn’t scare me. But this is much harder. Like, dpdr is something I’m familiar with, but this is a whole new almost convincing level 😂

Hello, I would really appreciate it if you could give me few minutes of your time and answer my question because this is killing me and ruining my life at this point, my OCD is not that crazy compare to extreme cases I have seen after researching but its enough to drive me crazy even if I can hide from people around me, one big example thats bothering me is simply watching movies which is one of my favourite things to do, now more times I forget about my OCD and watch and enjoy the movie like a normal person but sometimes my obsessive thoughts kick in, it could be something random, numbers or anything, point is when it’s happening I am going through absolute HELL in my mind, what I always try to do is to either STOP or come into the conclusion in my mind so I know that thought is done which makes it worse and I think about it even more, and thats keeping me from enjoying the movie. The movie is playing and Im having this terrible time and thinking IM MISSING THIS, I AM NOT ENJOYING this, then I have to pause, go through loops of thoughts like 700 times then replay the movie. 10 minutes later, same thing again so I pause, then think think think then play. In one of ur videos you said, stay with the discomfort and let your thoughts be there, dont push them away and try to stop them because it doesn’t work anyways. I completely agree, but the other option is if I stay with them and let the movie play and not pause , I keep thinking that I am missing these parts and this sucks and enetually they go away but I missed 30 mins of it(didn’t really miss but I had thoughts in my head that prevented me from focusing on the movie) and that bothers me so much so I go back 30 mins and play what I saw three times like a crazy person. This time it might work or thoughts attack me again!!, Should I just be like, well…my thoughts appeared, I dont try to stop them, keep watching untill they go away and when they do, the moments I missed dont matter and just keep watching because thats when the thoughts appeared and it is what it is?, Im just trying to understand and do this the best way that doesn’t bother me so much, so I can just relax and move on. This is just one example, it happens with other things too!!, what is the best thing to do in this situation?!

Brother I am suffering from it too.. There is only one way to get over it Do meditation, means just stand in namaste posture or sit calmly and let those thoughts come You might feel afraid or it may drive you crazy during meditation but you have to do it twice a day for couple of months. Its exposure therapy Only this can fix you, i am doing it
