Even non-OCD thoughts/images derived in the past (past “real” memories) are very unreliable. The brain does not differentiate what is vividly imagined and what was actually experienced. This is a principle I used as I coached college baseball players within a sports psychology context. Unconditional self-acceptance would be very useful for all humans regardless of having OCD.

This was amazing. Talking about setbacks is key and the reality that Acceptance can take up to 2 years. Well done good job 👌👍

God, i made a mistake 2 years ago, and i didn't know back, and i just forgot about it and now when real event ocd hit i was like ok wow that was actually horrible what I've done and my ocd says what if you want to do it again and i start to get anxious because i don't want to do that because that goes against who i am and then ocd says but you did it in your past and then i say i didn't know back then. Im not my past

Does the amount of mistakes matters ? I feel like I'm the only one who made this much mistakes 😭

Mistakes are made by humans til the day they die - even on their deathbed (like missing important meds)! So accepting we'll make mistakes is key - it's the relationship with ourselves that has to change.

Hey Anna. If the amount of mistakes matter it would be called "Unconditional acceptance ONLY for people who have made less than X number of mistakes" :-)
@goodmorning2386
@goodmorning2386 Жыл бұрын
Nope, amount of mistakes does not matter at all Everyone makes so so so so sooooo many mistakes, you just don’t tend to hear about them since they don’t tell people You will make mistakes until the day you die, it is only human
