Pretty accurate review of our recent March 2023 experience too. Having never been to an all inclusive-and having nothing to compare it to-we agree with almost everything you’ve said! Especially the privilege part. Regarding the gym, we walked by it so many times during our stay and it was practically empty so making it bigger doesn’t seem realistic to us. Reviews are so subjective based on what we each expect or want but this review was very well rounded. We’d go back to Ocean Blue

We arrived in 2 weeks after Hurrican Ian, September 2022. It was our 5th time at this resort and sad to see the destruction, but they did a terrific job getting things cleaned up and operating. The Manager (Jose) went out of his way to help us. We traveled from Pennsylvania and booked the package with AmStar. Our AmStar rep (Junior) was available every day to help us with excursions and return travel arrangements. The fact that the property is compact makes it convenient to get around easy. Mike's coffee house is probably our favorite hangout any time of the day or night. It feels like home every time we arrived.

What an amazing family trip we got to experience with our family ❤, the resort was nice but unfortunately the check in and the food was not to our liking, I hope this review helps the resort and staff to improved in those areas and make it a better experience for the next guest..

@@coricoburnets7116 I just got back from Riu Bambu ! I loved it but I met other people from riu bavaro and Riu palace and I would prefer to stay there instead. The food/drinks were much better. Just a heads up it is a party resort but you don’t have to go to the party’s, they have live shows and themed dinners. There was a wide range of all ages & the service over all was excellent from the staff.

I really liked this resort. Check-in was crappy, yes. The food was pretty good, imo. Like you said, some of the staff were good with service while others seemed too serious and afew who seemed to not want to be there, etc. A little bit of language barrier at times. The pools are huge, and the beach had very little seaweed there at least when we went. The rooms were nice and kept decently clean, etc. Overall, I would rate it a 7.5 - 8. Benjamin who works at Mike's Coffee Shop there who is a barista is such a great guy. Please, go talk to him. Yordi at the Sports Bar late at night was great as well! Hope to see you both sometime again! I would go back for sure.

Also want to add that this is a large resort with alot of walking, but I didn't mind one bit. They have converted golf carts that will pick you up and drop-off pretty quickly. Always running. Lots of night life and shows quite often. Decent restaurants.

Hmmm, I was thinking of going here on my own for a solo vacation to relax from work -- but your overall review gives me a vibe that the place is not too great overall. Looking at Iberostar Punta Cana, but more expensive.

I'm so shocked at the state of the beach! We visited ocean blue and sand in 2013 and the beach was BEAUTIFUL! There was no huge drop off from erosion and there was no seaweed at all! There were lounge chairs all over the place! They clearly can't keep up with the erosion problem. That's very disappointing.

Our favorite resort in DR is Sanctuary Cap Cana, we went there for our honeymoon, and it was the best resort we have ever stayed at. We are actually in the middle of editing that video so our viewers can see it. It was magical. So stay tuned, and thank you for subscribing to our channel

there are many islands in the caribbean but the islands of cuba,haiti,dominican republic and puerto rico seem to get hit by hurricanes far more than other islands. those islands are smack bang in the middle of the caribbean and seem to get hit by hurricanes way more often than other islands such as jamaica,barbados and trinidad and tobago.

You don't have to wear dress pants but in some no shorts and sandles are allowed . I got into all the restaurants with plain sneakers and jeans

I couldn’t agree more with the check in frustration , I got to this resort at 12 pm dressed in my winter attire, had to sweat for 3 and a half hours waiting for the room it wasted our entire first day. Everything is too far and spread out and if you want nice beach water this is the Atlantic side of the island , should Stay on the carribean side. Very disappointing.

A cab from the airport is $40-$45 US. Check with your tour operator as transfer may be included in your package. Have not done any tours but hear that Soana Island is amazing

I felt safe around there . It's not as nice an area as Cap Cana but it was nice . We don't leave the resort so for us it wasn't a concern
