Because in Movies/T.V or plays you never see the reality of life, ei common everyday functions like bathroom, washing, combing, changing etc. So to make his character look real he decided to eat and could still play his scene without an unwanted distraction[toilet]. Remember if an everyday function is seen it's because the script calls for it. Pitts choice to be seen eating was outside the script and added an everyday living being function, most Actors wouldn't bother just stick to the script and make their character believable.

Angie doesn't even care that she is hurting the kids. Angie is really a bad Mother. a Mother who would use her kids as a weapon, I read where her Mother was extremely depressed and would stay in bed all day when John Voight left. Angie is getting away with murder the way she's treating Brad the FBI totally cleared Brad. You could tell that older boy would say anything for Angie, against Brad. I read were her Lawyer made the whole thing up about Johnny Depp being abusive. And I'm really mad about Depp being dropped from the roll he created.
