We’ve completed 2 cruises on the Vista and absolutely love the ship. A big item that needs to top the list of amenities is the crew. They are so warm, friendly, accommodating, and make Oceania a joy to be on. Think management also got the best for their new ship. Couple of things: most popular dish on Oceania is the Miso Glazed Sea Bass in Red Ginger. Toscana has a marvelous Dover Sole too. Ember grows on you. It’s not fast food nor is it a two hour multi course restaurant like Polo or Toscana. We’ve had times where we want a quicker meal but don’t want to compromise on ingredients and taste. Ember fills those needs. You didn’t do the cabins and suites but for all who are considering booking they have lots of USB A & C ports. Lots of AC plugs. And a very good offerings on the TV. Thank you for your excellent video.

Hi Charles @charlesredick9424 , thanks for input and glad you enjoyed the video! My philosophy is ships should be standalone, and that Vlog series as well as associated rooms/cabins are separate categories; I want people to find just a ship that are interested in a ship and just a room that might be interested in a cabin, etc. I don’t like muddling the products together 😂 As it happens, this Friday, as in tomorrow, is when our cabin tour airs. The first Friday in October is when our six-part Vlog series about this itinerary begins - which will air weekly. You’re right about the power, and I go into that with a bit of detail in a close-up during the room tour. Thanks for taking the time to make a comment!

Hi Maryann! Yes, we had about four weeks in between series, which is a bit unusual. We try to stick to two or three. This trip was just last month, and one of two we did in Europe. We quite liked the ship overall, she still had that new car smell😆 If you happen to use Facebook, look at the “About” tab of our channel. We have a small group page where we gather people to talk about travel and cruising; you might enjoy it! Thank you for watching !

At 66,000 tons, or thereabouts as memory serves, she’s definitely smaller than every Princess ship still in service; I think the bottom end of their current fleet is mid 90,000 GT (Coral, Island) going way way up from there. You are going to thoroughly love this ship, not only for its size, but for its food and service which, with respect, beats the heck out of Princess- or what Princess has become. Oceania are awesome, and you’re going around Christmas you’re going to have an extra treat! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

Considering this is a new class of ship the layout is very familiar with the Oceania Class. A beautifully filmed video as usual very easy on the eye. I think the decor is generally a little lighter and more modern than Riviera, however I believe some of the seating in the public rooms on Riviera look more comfortable. The proof of the pudding is in the sitting. Not sure about Ember in place of Jacques we quite liked it. Thanks for the detailed look we have just received the brochure for Allura looks very similar. Cheers Bob speak to you both soon but not this evening.

Thank you for your video. We have stepped away from Celebrity and moved to the smaller lines, can't wait till December for our 1st cruise on Vista. I don't know if you've sailed with Silversea, we're also booked on them in May2024 to Alaska on their new ship Silver Nova, then again on Visa in December 2024 and another booking on the Regatta in Asia 2025. Then we'll figure our which of the 2 lines best fit us. Again thank you for your video.

Hi Roosje! I think you'll find many things similar from Celebrity to Oceania, though, I feel Oceania excels in cuisine over Celebrity. I haven't sailed with SS, though we have several times on Seabourn (on our channel). Silver Moon and Nova look great - Do let us know in the FB Group* how you like them after your cruise. Asia is wonderful- we were just there with Cunard in May, and loved it. Already booked with Oceania, though, for our second cruise with them. You are very welcome - we love to make the videos (and never do so with a sponsor, so we retain 100% integrity in what we report). * Just sent you a message on FB regarding the group. Thanks for not only watching, but taking time to leave a comment!

Beautifully done presentation Bob as are all of your videos. Entertaining and informative. Really enjoyed it. Thank you. Curious what you think of Oceana as a value compared to for example your experience on the Konigsdam.
@InnocentsAbroad
@InnocentsAbroad 9 ай бұрын
You're very welcome! Overall: Oceania better ('for us'). Koningsdam is better value-for-money, but then there aren't as many inclusions. If one writes that off (paying more to get things included) to overall symantics: Oceania (v HAL) excel at: Food (best anywhere overall on a cruise line); Service (Koningsdam were good, but Oceania were snappier/more attentive); HAL, though- excellent at entertainment. This is where Oceania are not up to scratch compared with so many others we've been on. Overalll, allowing for ok but not great shows, entertainment VENUES... this matters... We'd still take Oceania, apples-to-apples. Of those two lines, we've 2 on HAL Spring '24, but no Oceania until late Spring 2025. Thanks for commenting!

Hi. I'd like to know what type of music is played. I'm 62, love music from the 50s-90s. I'd love it if they featured music from that era. Classical music is nice once in a while but not for the full length of the cruise. Before I book this cruise line, I want to get a feel of who it caters to & what the vibe is like. I'm not looking for wet t shirt contests nor am I interested in a stuffy crowd. Classic rock is my style but I'm also flexible. Thanks 😊
@InnocentsAbroad
@InnocentsAbroad 5 ай бұрын
Hi Robert, Your music concerns aren't all that different from my own - whether creating videos or just cruising, it's a huge component to me. I'm just two trips around the Sun less than your good self, and specifically where music is concerned, Oceania Vista did not dissapoint. I'd recommend looking at our Iberia series (Aug 2023 when this ship tour was filmed) to see the peerformers in action. Those entertainers ranged from straight rock & roll in Horizons observation lounge, to, yes- classical in the same place or in the Grand Lounge. As to an arguable middle ground, the Martini Bar daily hosted an acoustical guitarist or piano player. Nearly all genres were covered, minus rap. Chuckled at your t-shirt contest. TBH, it is NOT that type of cruise line; Carnival or Royal Caribbean it isn't. Gosh, not even close. Oh, there is no stuffiness, either... and that's a very relevant point to make - Oceania are not quite as 'thinking' as Viking tend to draw, but they're rather close- the average passenger seemingly opting for a club-like casual dress and with it- attitude. It's country-club casual with a strong (READ: strong) 'foodie' element. Holly cooked in thier kitchen (selfless plug- you can see how that works, too, in our series). You aren't likely at any reasonable guess to be disappointed with Vista. Thanks for watching, and taking time to comment! If FB is your thing, you're more than welcome to join our very low-key chat group to talk about, well- travel. It's not a business, it's just for fun & networking about cruising.

My wife and I will be going on Oceania for the first time December 30th for 10 days in the Caribbean ringing in 2024 onboard Vista. We chose a Penthouse suite on deck 11 midship port side as part of our 30 wedding anniversary celebration. This is the most i have ever spent for a cruise but we are looking forward to a smaller passenger count and more luxury accommodations etc at 56 yrs young. Lol. I'm curious to ask how was your overall experience? Reviews i have seen which are a small sample size since the ship is new have been average at best but she looks like a beautiful ship. Thank you for the insight.

@InnocentsAbroad 11 ай бұрын
Hi Bob, That’s a great time to travel; I’d imagine Vista will still be decorated for the Holidays! Good choice about the PH suites! We loved our Concierge cabin (that video of the room tour releases publicly Sep 22), so I imagine a PH will be even nicer. As to ‘more luxury accommodations’, I think you’ve chosen the perfect line for it. Oceania at very much at the top of the premium category, and imho, have only Viking as proper competition, with both falling just below a luxury line (pricey Silversea/Seabourn, etc.). Viking (we love) and Oceania are prob the best mix of luxury-type environment while not completely breaking the bank, and far, far pleasantly removed from budget MSC/Carnival, and even NCL/RCCL. Our overall experience was excellent; our 6-part Vlog series on our itinerary begins weekly Oct 6. As to other folks you mention not giving a solid sample size, or perhaps all-too-often-not an objective report (most KZfaqrs are ‘sensational’ at integrity’s expense), I’d only flesh out here what I mentioned in our ship tour - Vista is pretty, good entertainment, has excellent food (service as well), and great tech, but, again, imho - not among the tops of design. Oh, she may, and does - have that ‘new car smell’ still, but a nagging bit for me is Deck 6. The design of Martinis put the stage right next to the bar, rendering the former impractical to hear (Note: I have excellent hearing, so it’s not that, lol). All too often, we sat at the front of the room to play trivia, then hang out to listen to whatever acoustic guitarist or piano player there was - their performances were too often drowned out by the crowd around the bar, doing what there were rightfully there to do - drink and socialize. In contrast, the performer was often frustrated because his/her audience really could not hear what they were playing (and singing). For your evening music entertainment, I’d suggest Horizon’s observation bar, where there is far more room to spread out. Feel free to join our FB Group (see the ‘About’ tab of our channel for a link) page to interact with very nice people who chat cruising and travel. Thank you for watching our channel, and thanks for taking time to leave a comment. -Also a Bob :)

@@InnocentsAbroadBob.... Thank you for all the Information on Vista. We are curious to see the difference between Celebrity Equinox that we are sailing on October 14th to the ABC Islands ( also our first cruise with Celebrity) and our first cruise with Oceania Vista in December for the 10 day cruise to the Caribbean. We believe Oceania is a step up from Celebrity but we are looking forward to both cruises. Celebrity Equinox holds 2,800 passenger's and Oceania 1,200 passenger's i'm curious to experience that. Thank you again for your time and replying and i don't do social media but my wife has Facebook so we may check out your recommendation. :) This is our first time doing basically back to back cruises with a short 2 month break in between for Thanksgiving and Christmas but celebrating 30 yrs of marriage only comes ounce. Thank you for a well filmed and very informative video. I was, however, somewhat taken aback by the use of the term “handicapped friendly” in relation to the restroom access. The word “handicap “ or “handicapped “ has been seen as a pejorative term in the UK for many years now and would not be used in any formal media. I guess the term still has currency in the USA ?
@InnocentsAbroad
@InnocentsAbroad 11 ай бұрын
Hi Brummie, You're very welcome. I'm glad you liked our video and took the time to post a comment. WRT the WC voiceover, no offense was intended of course, and tbh, here in the U.S., 'we' had our own tussle, albeit 10-15 years ago, of modyfying the term. Until 'handicapped' was brought into general acceptance, 'disabled' was the norm. Today, some here might say 'physically challenged', though without excuse, it's impractical to please everyone. Thank you for watching!

Hi Rev, Oceana’s food was better. In fact, it was excellent, across-the-board, if not outstanding. in my opinion, and we have been on several Viking ocean/expedition/river cruises, Viking are a better product overall, but not in the area of food. Viking are good in food, but Oceania are better.
