So heres the video I have been teasing many of you about for the past month or so. Finally able to upload it. I couldnt be more happy to have been the first to film on of these collecting dumpsters, and right outside the station in Oceanside. Huge thanks goes to the driver too.
So on this day, Scott and I met up in Oceanside, but I arrived first (about 7 in the morning) and good thing as the truck was literally right in front of the loading docks for the trains! Because of that I was able to follow the truck and film a bit. Had I been a little later, we might have missed this particular truck all together. For once, luck was on my side on that trip! woo!
One of many PODs that will be gone very soon. I am beyond happy to have gotten to see one in action in both commercial and residential. This wont be my last Oceanside trip, but likely the last time filming the PODs. So enjoy!
And yes, that was paint dripping through a rusted out hole in the body. The driver noticed after the cycle a 6:40, and told me where his next stop would be, and that he would be back in about 15 minutes, as he needed to change out for a different body since the pint dripping was pretty bad. Huge thanks again to the driver. A very friendly guy and professional guy. And yes, from the time he left to the time he returned with a new empty body, was only 15-20 minutes. Advantage of a POD system!
And the whining sound you hear at 9:03 and various other times in the video, is in fact the back up beeper malfunctioning. It was working alright in the morning, but got progressively worse as we followed him LOL
Sorry about the shaking, it was rather cold that morning
